Apparently there is a group of betters that have being bribing referees to get the results wanted. The group is formed of extremely high rollers and the bets took place on illegal sites, bets that reached 70,000 dollars. "

Not only in Brazil pal. Last year the same if not worse happened in Germany. So lets not just blame this on Brazil. As far as we know it right now its 1 ref and 1 wiseguy.

It's not that suprising match fixing has happened in nearly every major league. That ref in Germany last year, Grobbalar and Fashenu in the Premiership, Marseilles in France.

Because of greed people will go to any length to fix a match.

It's certainly not unusual in Italy - Genoa was relegated from Serie A to Serie C1 after being found guilty of buying victory in the last match of last season, a win which ensured their (short-lived) promotion to Serie A.
