I don't know about you guys, but I'm anxiously awaiting to see what Ricardo Lavolpe's first convocatoria will look like. Regardless of what you might have against the guy (RDL :p) we should definitely look forward to seeing what the new Tri will look like.
I'm guessing that Lavolpe is going to use a lot of U-23 guys and some world cup veterans. I can definitely see Lavolpe using some of his Toluca cronies (Carmona, Garcia) because they know his system. One guy I would like to see in the midfield is Luis Perez.
Anyways..what do you guys think his first team will look like for the first few friendlies in January?

I remember him saying he's done in 2yrs or in 2 seasons either way should'nt they be looking for a replacement for future endeavors. Aside from that the list looks good to me excepet by the time the next World Cup starts Cuauh will be 33 and not to say that speed is greatest attribute but he getting any faster.

I'd like to see Antonio DeNigris and Omar Bravo get a chance.
He is my favorite Tricolor player.
I hope he is given the chance for one last W.C.
I have this feeling that the 3rd time will be a charm for Arrelano.

Lavolpe wont play for a central midfielder since he knows we dont have that magical number 10 in the midfield.
His team will consist of 2 strong centerbacks (a player like Marquez or Davino or Mascorro) SOmeone that is somewhat tall and agile)
Then beside his 2 centerbacks he will have 2 backs that push forward and defend (a player like Pity, Carmona, Chiquis or Castro)
Infront of those 2 backs he will have 2 wings (a player Arellano or Morales who can run inside and outside)
He will have one defensive mid (Torrado or even Perez)
Then he will have 2 floating attackers such as Blanco, Palencia, Zepeda
And will go with one striker...Borgetti

I dont think there is a better Mexican keeper than Oswaldo Sanchez at the moment. I do not understand how you chose Martinez over him. Christian was partially responsible for Santos elimination against Toluca by commiting heinous mistakes !!!
I was also surprised that you picked "Zinha" unless you are thinking that Lavolpe will call him up. Which i doubt given that Lavolpe said he would not call any nationalised players in his first year with the team..
Other than that i doubt Marquez and Torrado would be called in for non FIFA sanctioned Friendly "A" Matches..

Right now, I think Rios has been the most consistant keeper.

I thought Christian Martinez plays for America who also played for Necaxa. The keeper for the Nigeria 99 games. THe keeper for the Winnepeg 99 games. The keeper that played for America alot during the 2000 Copa Libertaodres. HE is considered to be part of the overhyped, less productive era. (The osornos, Juan Pablos). The fact is, there were some good keepers but just got the bad press because of the lost generation.
You are thinking of Adrian Martinez

I think he will use him sooner. Its not whether I agree or not..but i know that he will get called up...considering he stays healthy

I dont know..

I think that Lavolpe should look for more consitant players. Rafael Medina was great for La Piedad but did Jacksquat for Chivas. On his Chivas form, there is no way he should be in the Tri. Zinha is superb right now but he has to at least have one more year to see if he is that good.

Victor Gutierrez is a good player, very agile and if he can improve his shot at goal he can become a good asset for the National Team. Other players i like from your list are Braulio Luna, he is very versatile and can play in many positions which is the ideal player for Lavolpe. I also forgot about Luis Perez who is a good contencion. He is in the U-23 and im not sure if Lavolpe will be using him with the Senior team as well. At least i dont think he will mix both squads this early..

Good lists from all of you, but I think that Lavolpe is going to surprise us all. I definitely see Zinha in the mix because that Argie bastard is stubborn. I'll produce my list a little bit later.

Pre WC form- YES
After WC form- NO
Maybe I am being a little too harsh on him, but he was not as consistant as he has been before. America didnt really have an effective creative midfieldr, so much of our attack came from the sides.
If he steps it up again next season, SURE..put him on for a try out

One good season with Club America should not guarantee you a spot with the Mexican National team. Last time this happened el Tri got stuck with Villa and Lara for over five years.. :(
Does anyone know if the FMF are going to let Lavolpe smoke during the matches?
