They said on the radio that Corpus Christi is under a mandatory evacuation order. Any word from Cam lately?
Last thing he said was that he'd sent the family away, but that he and his friends were going to be renting a margaRITA mixer...

Shotguns and Margaritas, sounds like a Jimmy Buffett song.

Really? Is Delaware that country? It sounds more like some Toby Keith lyrics to me. If i can work in "USA" and "open a can of whup-ass" a few times, i think my songwriting future in Nashville might be looking bright.

I was being facetious, and I ********ing hate Toby Keith. As for Delaware being country, yes, I'm afraid that below the C&D canal is very country. There's a NASCAR track in Dover for crying out loud. However, northern Delaware is really just a southern suburb of Philadelphia, and as a result is much more like the rest of the Northeast. Around here, the colloquialism is "there's New Castle County, then's there's slower Delaware." Because of the tax/corporate laws, a lot of banks call Wilmington home, and as such there are a lot of wealthy people in New Castle County. Where I live in Newark is where the University of Delaware is, and it's pretty much like most college towns. Most of the students are from NY, NJ, PA, MD and of course DE. I kinda like being here as it's only 2 hours to NY, 2 hours to DC, an hour to Baltimore, and 40 minutes to Philly.

Yep, yep, yep. Now that i think of it, maybe i can make it into a Toby Keith/Kenny Chesney duet... just kidding, i hate that crap. I've never really been to Delaware, just passed through on my way somewhere else. Being from NJ, any mention of the word "Newark" makes me shudder, but living in a college town is always cool. I live really close to UCSD and let me tell you, that school is lame, absolutely no off campus community here at all.

Yeah, I mean you don't want to ruin your chances now that Rene's available, right?

Well, in Jersey, it's pronounced "newerk", in Delaware, it's pronounced "new-ark" (as in 'Raiders of').

The University has been trying in vain to shut down the off campus community, but it's still pretty vibrant. There used to be a pretty good music scene - punks and hippies all in the same bars. I guess that's why my musical tastes are what they are.

Saw the oddest thing in the sky tonight, i thought it might be the Northern Lights but it may have just been a really odd cloud. I've read reports of the Aurora Borealis being see in regions its never been seen before, but San Diego? It was kind a weird swirl that was green and orange, maybe it was the sunset or something?

I saw on the TV news that it was a rocket launch. Mystery solved... or was it? It depends if you believe the TV news. ;)

So what is the word from Cam today? Anyone heard from him? I know he called Bready last night so perhaps he will call one of us today if he does not log on!
