Cam: Disaster prep mode; sending kid/wife away as he stocks the beer fridge and ensures plenty of gas for the generator.

Steph: too busy to keep the OT kids in line

H. Goon (mike): training the neophyte at work

GG: not as caught up with cool threads as he thought he should be

Me: fighting a bad cough and clock watchin' (and still slightly on a high from the magnificant comback.....;))

EDIT: listening to : 8.17.1996 set II

curtain > jim > it's ice > brother (w/ Ben and Jerry), Phluffhead > Antelope (Got spike?) > Golgi > Slave to the Traffic Light

Rita now a Category 5. Buckle up, Cam. You're in our prayers.

The latest forecast has it going a bit further north, which is good for me, but not so much for all my friends in Galveston and Houston.

Wow, hopefully it will calm down over the next two days, and its still projected to be headed for Galveston. I don't know how far that is from Corpus Chisti, but i hope its far enough to spare Cam's house. Is there a :worried: smiley?

It should decrease in strength as it get nearer to land because the water conditions inshore are cooler than offshore. But it will still be quite big. Getting everything together tonight, going to start getting the boards ready, and watch the 7 and 10 o'clock reports. May or may not be on BS tomorrow.

Also, I hope txgunner gets out of the way because he is right in the storms path! He lives in Wharton, which is southwest of Houston and near the eyewall track.

Cam, stay good man. We'll pray for you and the family, and raise a glass when all is said and done.
Well we'll raise a glass before it's done also, and during, and well you get the picture. :)

that sounds like me. Once i got lost in Virginia and had to go back and forth across the bridge/tunnel twice during rush hour! It was my first time driving up there by myself, and it took me 2 extra hours because I kept getting lost.
