As good a place as any to post this,

but I'm coaching my daughter's U10 soccer team. Midway through the third quarter, she scored the winning goal!! She's not particularly good. In fact, she's pretty ungraceful, but she was in the right place at the right time, didn't give up on the ball and scored with 15 minutes left in the game. The last 15 minutes were the longest I've spent in quite some time. I don't know if I've ever wanted a win this bad, and since I'm the dad, I have to admit that I didn't want anyone to score on my team. I wanted that 2-1 scoreline. And we got it.

I don't think there will be many gamewinners for my daughter in her future, but for today, she's the gamewinner.

Yes congratulations, did you teach her a goal scoring celebration? Do that and tell her it for the next one she scores.

It's fun to be a parent at least until they get older :-)

Ahh, the magic of soccer. Kind of puts things in perspective. Hope she got to talk about her goal the rest of the day (AFTER the post-game slurpee, of course).

Congrats to you and your daughter. Look forward to hearing about her next one.

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARY!!!!!!!!

Seriously, isn't seeing kids celebrate a rare goal just the best thing ever?

Here's to hoping she scores a thousand more and still acts like it was the first!
