Anyone know why Goltv used their Dean and Shane announcing pair for today's Juve game? You could even hear the usual (and far better) Serie A guys in the background. The normal pair are more knowledgable about Serie A, professional enough to not get overly excitied by every damn square pass or hopeless shot, and actually add some insight to the matches they cover. Instead we get these two donkeys. Maybe Goltv is trying to get people to switch to the Serie A games on FSC.

The play calling was horrible.
What was really driving me nuts was pronouncing Juventus as "Joo-vent-us."
And Phil mentioned Atalanta a few times, and pronounced their name as "Aht-lahn-tah."
Unfortunately, they used an in studio announcer for the FSC game too, and he was horrible as well.

The FSC guy has Christian Bozzo who usually does Argentina league games,he didnt have one clue who was who in the game and seemed lost.

The British guys that do the Serie A stuff are fantastic. They should ALWAYS be used. I don't mind when they use local guys for the La Liga coverage (although Paul Breene Turner is awesome), but those guys are the best combo doing soccer that I know of.

I thought it might have been to make sure scores for delayed games weren't heard (do they usually do that), but the Milan game wasn't airing until 12 hours later, so that couldn't have been it.

The British Serie A announcers never reveal other scores. Ever since the Milan/Juve game at the end of last year GolTV has used their own announcers for at least one Serie A game a week. Which sort of sucks since they are clearly not as knowledgle has Paddy Agnew et al. And I think I have run my course with Ray Hudson. He was nice at first but I can only take so much ass kissing a game before I click the mute button. After the Inter/Lecce game I was sure Juan Veron was gonna walk on water.

Anybody wish they would show Udinese-Juventus instead of Milan-Lazio?

So what uniforms will the teams be wearing for Udinese v Juve?
:D
If they do show that game next week, and they do use Phil in the studio as the broadcaster, I hope he learns it's pronounced
Yooo-vehn-tus, or just Yooo-vay for short.
And Udinese is Ooo-dee-nay-zay.

Maybe Juve will wear their reds. Hope so, they're quite sharp:

You bring up a very good point about the revelation of scores during games - not only Goltv is guilty of this but espn2 guys need to really stop this during coverage of CL games. We have Setanta now, we dont need them to ruin games for us by updating us on scores.
Goltv - please, get rid of ray, schoen and the rest of the guys in your studios runnign commentary on Seria and LaLiga games.

Setanta is a channel that like 20 people get. Remember it's only on DirectTV, and only for those people that pay $12/month for it. I doubt ESPN cares.
In fact, ESPN shows scores of games airing later on ESPN Deportes, so if they do that, I doubt they'll be witholding scores for games on another network.
But I do agree with the latter point (and that goes for FSC as well).

ESPN Deportes does that too. While they are showing the 2:45 live game, the narrator would go and say how the other games are going and they would even put graphics with the scorers and how many minutes into the game (knowing that they are gonna show the rest of the games at 4:45, 7:00 and so on, but they still do it  )

Same pair for yesterday's Juve-Milan game - unbelieveable.
Cant wait for another channel to pick up these games in the US as Setanta did with CL.

Be careful what you wish for because FSC is no better. I think the British announcers for Serie A are wonderful but I'd still rather hear Lindsay (sp?) and Ray Hudson than Christian Miles. The only good thing about FSC is that they eventually move toward Sky's broadcasters (e.g., EPL from the beginning, French football this season, and Budesliga this season). But I wish they'd make the switch with Serie A as well. Take care.
