I think we are all itching for the next MLS season, but it is never too early to think about related matters. Section 8 is the best fans section in the MLS, and Section 8 fans had a beneficial effect on cheering efforts for the U.S. Men's National Team, especially in Foxboro the day we qualified, and in Korea. Cos was amazing, as were many others.
Is anybody out there planning on going to Mexico City in 2005 for the (hoped for) World Cup Qualifier? Time passes quickly, and the World Cup will be here before you know it. A strong Chicago presence in the audiences at such events could make a difference. The U.S. can win the World Cup in 2006.

I have an uncle an hour outside Hamburg who owns 2½ vacation condos in a seaside spa town. I also have a cousin in Downtown Berlin, and both expect me in June-July '06. I'm just hoping that WHEN we qualify, we get sent to one or both. No matter what, come 2006, if I'm breathin', I'm leavin' on a jet plane.

Peace

Isn't it kind of soon to be thinking about this? USA has to qualify first.

Also, maybe this i better suited for a forum other than the Fire one. We have enough problems just with next season then worrying about the next World Cup

I mentioned qualifiers in the post. Moving a thread kills it.

Germany in 2006 will probably be my last hurrah before college, regardless of if we make it or not. Should be fun.

I've already talked with my parents about a "graduation gift." Plus...ROTC lets me have two months of leave before I report. Count me in!

I think you can do a 13 day, 3 preliminary round game journey for around $2000, not including the cost of the tickets, which should be around 70 dollars per game in the "Section 8" of American fans in Berlin.

I have this going on too. It'll be graduation from college so i think that's important enough to get a decent present. I do wanna hit up Mexico City for the WCQ, I think we should have AT LEAST 1,000 down there for that one. Anything less than that is pitiful.

A moderator evidently moved this from the Chicago Fire BB, where most Chicago fans can be found. It sure does not belong here. It is the same old story on Big Soccer....
The original title was "Section 8 in Berlin"

Good for you. I hope MLS fans of all teams can join together and sing the boys to victories instead of splitting hairs along MLS team allegencies and arguing over who is singing louder. I look forward to standing side-by-side with fans from all (hopefully at that point) 14 MLS teams and having a frigging blast.

Start saving now, guys and gals!!!!

My boys who are 13 and 10 (now) plan on being there, with me of course. They borrowed a "Learn the German Language" CD from a friends dad and walk around the house "speaking" German to each other. The 13 yr old is trying to find a class at the local JC, scary. I'll need them with me just to communicate.

I'll be there, probably as a graduation gift as well.

Since I'll most likely be living somewhere in Chicago after I graduate, this thread should be helpful.

Hopefully WC 2006 we be a graduation gift for me, too. But unlike the rest of you guys, I'll just be leaving high school. God I feel young....
