Seems like it's been pretty quiet as far as travellers talk goes . . . just wondering.

I wish I was going... Unfortunately my last year of college is going to get in the way of that :(

Let's see.
China is far away and expensive to reach.
The language is unfamiliar to most Americans.
WWC '03 takes place in the middle of the school year.
Sounds to me like a recipe for whopping numbers of Americans to travel to China to see WWC '03.

WC '02 took place during Korea's rainy season and a whopping number of Americans still went.
No, I can't afford to go, but then again I couldn't afford to go to Korea either.
No need for the sarcasm. It's still a legitimate question.

If anyone is truly seriously considering going to the 2003 WWC, I would suggest that you visit SoccerVacations.com to help with your trip planning:

I am not going. No $$$ and I don't really have the desire to travel to a country like China for several weeks. I am just gonna sit on my butt just like the dozen or so other USWNT fans in this country and watch from the comfort of my beat up couch and eat Cheetos in the wee hours of the morning.

Well, I'm considering it.
I graduate this may and then hopefully will find a job where I can take 2 weeks off to travel to China, a place I've always wanted to go. Flights on travelocity seem pretty decent but will take some messing around with to get the right prices and the right games and the right hotels and have some time to be a tourist.
YAY! If anybody else is planning on going and wants to chat with me, send me a pm or an email or something and maybe we can plan together.
I'm pretty psyched.

Yes, but notice that the tournament in Korea was the MEN'S World Cup.

It looks like i mite be the only one going. Well me and my friends will try to out scream the thousands of fans for the other teams.

What makes you think that other teams will bring thousands of fans?
On another line of questioning, anybody know the capacity of the stadiums?

True, and I agree that not many Americans will travel to see the women play in China, but, that also wasn't Awe-Inspiring's argument.
Which makes this thread all the more important. If I could go, I'd like to be able to hook-up with as many people cheering on the Yanks as possible. It'll be a lot harder to do in China than it would have been in Korea. So, let's not hijack the purpose of this thread.
