Cowboys aren't america's team and, despite their recent success over the redskins, really do suck. Their cheerleaders however....I think Duke has hotter ones ;)

just stating the phacts.

I never said they were. I was just stating the phacts

I, personally, can't ephphin' stand that "Cowboys are america's team" nonesense (not that you said that but I imagine b/t you, Coach, phishy and anyother cowphans, someone was going to bring it up at some point today)

redskins are mediocre at best. I am just glad I've seen them win 3 super bowls in my life.

I don't usually bring it up except when the slurs against the Boys get too heated! And believe me growing up on Cowboy football I have heard it all.

Anyway, the origin behind the "America's Team" name.

America's Team
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
America’s Team is an established term used to describe the Dallas Cowboys franchise that plays in the NFC East of the National Football League. The Dallas Cowboys gained national prominence by playing in yearly football games on Thanksgiving.

Bob Ryan the Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films coined the title "America’s Team" in 1979. After preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film he had to come up with a title for the film. He was quoted as saying, "After the '78 season, the Cowboys had just lost a crushing Super Bowl to the Steelers. I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television.” Drawing upon this inspiration and that of other nationally followed sports teams, such as the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college football and the Boston Celtics in pro basketball, which Ryan said “are all America’s teams,” he decided to use “America’s Team” as the name of the highlight film.

During their first game of the 1979 season, a nationally televised game against the St. Louis Cardinals (which Dallas won 22-21), the television announcer introduced the Cowboys as “America’s Team” and the name stuck.

Originally Dallas’ Hall of Fame coach, Tom Landry, did not approve of the appellation. He felt that it would give opposing teams extra incentive to play harder. Eventually he gave in and actually came to like the name.

Just trying to pass on some information. Agree to disagree.

And if you try to slag my Boys again, I'm gonna punch you in the ovary, that's what I'm gonna do. A straight shot. Right to the babymaker.

All I know is that one of you is losing tonight, so that's one less undefeated club in the NFC East. I'm actually really curious how tonight's going to turn out for the Giants. Will the Saints still be fueled with the emotion of last week, or will the Giants keep up the momentum they built last week as well?

I didn't realize you could use both giants and momentum in the same sentence.
