Some friends got me on myspace. in the beginning it was a real bore. Then I a few people I know were on there. Then I played with HTML a bit. Recently I have found a lot of old friends I haven't talked to in years.
I use to do show promotion and see how myspace benifet organizations. I thought it would be viable tool to get to know other Rapids fans. since I wouldn't want to have every Rapids fan on my myspace. I would simply have a Colorado Rapids on there that everyone can link to.
I would put it together but since I don't live in Denver anymore I think it would be better for someone else.

Oiy, someone just dated themselves. :D
*edit* I have some time so some useful (maybe) info.
http://www.myspace.com/
One of those meet people, make a blog, post pictures kinda places.
You register for free and start making contacts. One of those online friend type networks. The buisness model seems to be to try to get as many tween to young adults to join an online neighborhood that makes you look at advertising. All while providing you with a space on the internet to meet people and create a site all your own.
My suspision is that yahoo chat is over logged and people are now coming here to advertise.
Or I'm a total cynic and this person actually loves Myspace.com.

Sorry I was in no way trying to advertise myspace. Yes, I do agree in general with your assessment of myspace. It can be very trendy and young. There are several sites that offer the same funcitons perhaps a yahoo group would be better.
I still see it's usefulness with groups. If I were looking for a film club or a home poker game to play in and could get a feel for the people in these groups based off age & intrest. It might also make it easier for me to introduce myself to a new group preped with a little background info.
When I was attending viewing parties everyone seemed distant and not very commual. For me it puts a face with a name or vice versa.

Good stuff then Orbie. So I'm a cynic. Sue me. :D
I don't think many of us here are familiar with MySpace and it sorta came out of the blue for us. I'm sure someone will check it out a little more.
As for people being distant. That is one of my complaints of the soccer community in general here in Denver. Go to a soccer match for Metro ( the local college) and people do not talk with each other and are not generally friendly unless they find out you are a relative to a player.
Oh, and Orbie if you haven't picked up on it yet, all of us on here are experts on the game. You should see some of the people at our viewing parties.
Eh. Don't listen to me... I'm an antisocial one. I'm sure you can find many more that are willing to talk to you about how the names of the players are pronounced.
Do let us know if you are ever planning to go to the game again. I don't sit in 127, but some of the people that I have met (Illbeats crew) are very social and inviting if they are there.
I hope you have a better time next time around.
*edit* I can't read either. I mean let us know if you are at a viewing party again. There are a few different groups that get together. I'm usually with a few other cynics that like to sit and talk smack about both teams so you are always welcome. Again, just let us know.
