Time to get ready for this match now. What did you think the lineup should be or will be

i think Wiltord will be on so Malouda --- Carew --- Wiltord to be the front line.

I dunno Fred made a strong statement with two goals today, he might get the nod on attack and maybe drop malouda to midfield.

I'd like this one :

--------------- Coupet ----------------
---------------------------------------
Reveillère - Caçapa - Monsoreau - Berthod
---------------------------------------
------- Tiago --------- Diarra ---------
-------------- Juninho ----------------
---------------------------------------
Govou ------------------------ Malouda
---------------- Fred -----------------

There's a problem with Cris being injured, bu I'd rather see Monsoreau than Diatta as CB (I'm always scared he's got the ball).

I only saw a little of the game today, and I know he is still very new to the team, but I think Fred should start. I have followed him in Brazil and he is so good.

Either way, good luck. I expect you to win 2-1, but no matter the score, I hope you win.

I know Fred did great against Monaco but you cant start him over Carew. You just cant. Bring Fred on as a second half sub for Govou.

Of course you can, he's in great shape right now, better than Carew, Houiller should pick him because of that (the shape of the moment of both players)

This is a big European match and you want the guy with more European experience out there.

Same one for me, except I would start Carew instead of Fred.

I will save this quote. This will be the joke of the year in a couple of months.
Fred was a great aquisition for Lyon. The guy was the main scorer here in Brazil. He's so good. He will make the World Cup with Brazil. Mark my words.

There's a problem with Cris being injured...he came back to the bench and seemed to trot with no problem, and the doctor's statement is reassuring.

in l'équipe today, the MRI showed nothing, and cris is in the group, but they're being careful and houllier says he's 50-50.

on the other hand, beckham is in luxemburgo's group, as are pavon and raul.

Haha. Sportboy was furious when Lyon signed Carew. Now he idolizes him. :D

Respect to Lyon. They look like a very strong side, which will definitely make for a great match tomorrow. Shame Ronaldo isn't playing, never the less may the best team win :)

it really is too bad that neither ronaldo nor zidane are playing... and i heard even raul/beckham might be absent... in any case, it will be a very good game in a electric sold out stadium... allez les gones!

from the L1 threadHow's everyone feeling about the Real Madrid clash???OL has historically played some of their best matches when they were supposedly in over their heads.

gerland is going to be PUMPED, and even if it's not anfield, there is a very strong chemistry between the players and the fans.

my lineup:

----------coupet--------------

RVR----cris---cacapa---berthod

--------diarra------------------
---------------juni-------------
govou------------------malouda

-------carew-------------------
--------------fred--------------

4-4-2?

at the homework level luxemburgo has done on us he probably doesn't even realize it's an option.

a 4-5-1 means tiago or pedretti, iow not getting all your best on the pitch.

sid and flo will not be on constant attack (OL won't be able to be anyway, let's be reasonable) but they can take care of business in the middle too. it will be a real 4-man midfield which can permutate into something tastier si affinités

i expect both clement and ben arfa to get some minutes. just so that in the future they'll have the confidence that cames from saying, "real madrid? shucks we played 'em when we were still wet behind the ears!"

and we won

I dont idolize him. I recognize he's the best at that position that they have. I'm not sold on Fred yet because he just got there. I still would rather have Baros than Carew.

----------coupet--------------

RVR----cris---cacapa---berthod

--------diarra------------------
---------------juni-------------
govou------------------malouda

-------carew-------------------
--------------fred--------------

Thats not a bad lineup but I would rather you have the extra defensive guy out there(Tiago) and take Fred off. I want Fred in as a 2nd half sub for Sidney. Real Madrid have plenty of attacking options to worry about and you dont have Abidal already and Cris probably isnt 100 % so I think its better you have Tiago out there and 1 striker instead.

--------------- Coupet ----------------
---------------------------------------
Reveillère - Cris-------Cacapa - Berthod
---------------------------------------
------- Tiago --------- Diarra ---------
-------------- Juninho ----------------
---------------------------------------
Govou ------------------------ Malouda
---------------- Carew -----------------

Against a team like Real Madrid who have so many attacking options this is the lineup you need. Tiago didnt leave Chelsea to be sitting on the bench for big matches like this.
