Theo Owens, my future National team star player popped to proficient batting this week after popping to mediocre concentration last week at 17 I'm figuring him to be good for at least 1 more batting pop this season up to strong, seeing as he's already got respectable stamina I think he's going to be in line for a spot in the WI nat. team once that starts up.
Edit: my 17 bowler has popped in either bowling or concentration... cant recall which but I know in the last 2 weeks he's improved both of those... I think this week's pop was bowling, up to competent.
And an 18yo batsman popped from mediocre to competent - I'm thinking of selling him at season's end or maybe at next pop.

No figuring required, it says it right on the page. :p
Asgard is now undergoing an expansion from 7,200 to 10,500 seats. We'll still be 500 of the cheapest seats off of the ideal ratio.
that they are.
i'm still mulling an expansion in my head. i have way to many member seats, 900 to be exact, but sell out all the other seats, even though i'm 1-3. I'm have two home matches this season.

I'm also considering an expansion myself... both of the cheapest sections can be expanded. I sell out the standing room seats at 5K and my uncovered seats are at 2000 and the ratio suggests that they sell as much as standing room only... so that's atleast 3k in supporters I'm missing out every week.. what I'm unsure about is how much to expand to.

there was a post on the sledging boards that said your max crowd was a multiple of how many members you have. i think.

Ok... so I'm upping my capacity to 15000 which is 2500 more than I need which is cool for now...
I've got a plan that may help those of you w/ future expansions.
when expanding, over expand one area... for example, standing room. That way, when your other sections are filled to capacity, that one wont.
Then, using the ratios of 45%/40%11%/4% you can determine how much to expand your stadium the next time without over/underexpanding since you can apply the correct ratio to attendance you are receiving to estimate what your expansion should be...
I inadvertantly did that my first time expanding so I had
5000
2000
2000*
350
* this section was overexpanded and is never full despite all the other sections selling out in my last 2 home games. The number was stable, 1361 up to 1365 it was sold out first match of the season against the best team in the series so I know those numbers aren't "reaching" or overly optimistic.

my guess in that post was actually quite accurate according to the ratios on that aussie website... I'm missing out on 3600 spectators right now... so I've put in my expansion...
I'd be interested to know what that ratio is...
my ratio if the aussie numbers are correct is 14.7
its not that hard to figure out... iirc u overexpanded your member seats right? so just use the most attendance you get there to work out how much your max crowd should be... ie... members should make up 4% of the total. So dividing the number of members you have by .04 should give you your total. You can then use that total to figure out what your multiplyer is... maybe if enough people do that we can get a solid number.

League AND Cup loss in one weekend. Joy. Turns out when your wicket keeper leads your team in runs, you don't win very much.

i'm going to be doing some math when i get home. i think i can fit around 13,000 and I'm at 10K or so right now

yes... think you said u get like 500+ members in the members area? well 550 people consistently in those seats would mean max crowd of say 13750... so there u have it! (if indeed u pull about 550 in the members seats).

yeah, first match of the season there were 671 members (i was 1-0 at the time). my next home match had 546 members (i was 1-2 at the time and lost the match). I have a change to beat my fellow promotee next week at his place then have the 1 and 2 teams at home (which i'll lose most likely) then I'll have the guy I beat in the first match at home, so I can win that one.
i think i might just expand to 13k regardless. I've got the funds (over 660k) but I am bidding on a player who will be hte best player overall in my squad if I get him.

I'd suggest you over expand just a tad, like I'm doing. There's a cost to do construction 20,000 every time u upgrade so over expanding a bit is usually standard procedure. Also, you aren't likely to fall below that 13750 mark too often because even when you do go through a rough patch, you'll have already added more members since the last time you went through a rough patch and that difference will help the bad times go away financially at least. Of course there are other ways to get more supporters and high attendance... How many PR Officers do you have? (you should have no less than 6 if u're in DII imo).

Checked training.
1 batting
1 fielding and 4 mentals.
Woo.
The guy who got the batting pop is now superb/proficient.

i've got 5 PRs. i can always hire one more. I start each week 2,000 in the red, but with a home match I make around 75,000, so if i expand and don't sell out I will definetly be able to afford it
johno
24 Oct 2005, 10:46 PM
yes, not only will you be able to afford it but later on (after your club has grown a bit) in those times when you fluctuate between getting more than you expect like against top 3 teams in your series and when you get about average, against other teams.. you'll be able to take advantage of that extra space and draw larger crowds and you'll find that one or two of those (which wouldn't be possible if u don't over expand a bit) matches will more than rectify shortcomings anywhere else.

well, i just expanded my ground to 14,820. i think that is the exact number. i figured it out with how many members I had show up to my last match. I might be a little high in some areas, but i've got the funds now so it'll pay off.
my pitch also just changed very quickly. It went from slow to green since friday night. Last time it took like 3 weeks to get from green to slow. weird.
i'm also in the running for a good buy in the transfer market. I think I'm over paying, but oh well, I have the funds and will have 200k still in the bank if I get this player coupled with the cost of expansion.
