nice win.

series II is killing me. I'm going to be at 1-3.

no expanding the ground for me. I'd be surprised if this match was a sellout

I've got my fellow promotee next week and then the team in 1st or 2nd depending on today's match who has been destorying everyone

******** ******** ********

And that's the end of the match. Stigos won by 4 wickets.
Wicketkeepers 163-10
Stigos 164-6

no way my bowlers bowl so well and then bleed runs to the lower order like that in real life.

plus, one of his bowlers, who has an average in the 50s, took 3 wickets for 25 runs!!

ratings for this match:

Wicketkeepers
Top Order: feeble
Middle Order: mediocre
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: feeble
Spin Bowling: woeful
Fielding: woeful

ratings for the last time I played TIE:

Wicketkeepers
Top Order: competent
Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: feeble
Spin Bowling: feeble
Fielding: woeful

guess my team really decided to take it easy.

i'm in over my head right now. Here's hoping for a kick ass batsmen youth pull this weekend

the ratings for my top three batsmen are proficient, competant, and competant. medicore, competant, and woeful stamina. mediocore, merdicore, and medicore on concentration.

what did that get me, a 1, a 3, and a 12 for a whopping grand total of 15 runs! jesus christ

on a brighter note, i'll have £662,239 in the bank this weekend. my attendence was only 200 under capacity. less members, but every other seat sold out. I have 900 member seats for my 999 members, way to many. It's usually 2/3s filled but today was over half filled. I still might expand, I'm not sure yet though. My fitness did go back up to moderate. I'm debating TIEing again in the cup on sunday against a series III opponent.

definetly not TIEing it for the cup. he's got a good squad from the ratings and if my team plays like they did today i'll get smoked

My fourth-position bowler put up six maidens for a 10-6-5-1 line today.

It was an easy TIE win for Norse, as the opposition was bowled out for ca. 110 runs. Norse saw Surman out after a half century, with opener Seargeant and third man Cox not out around 30 runs each.

I won the toss, elected to field (that old baseball mentality at work),
In my first season, I always fielded first, and it really hindered my Net RR (which is what determines tiebreakers).

My suggestion is to Field first against teams in which the game will be close, so you can have your batsmen shoot for a specific mark (which seems to increase their RR in later overs). If the team is a pushover, then bat first, and drive up your RR.

TIE'd against the league doormats, and did poorly, but still pulled out a 40 run victory (both teams all out).

Yeah, you won pretty handily, but it was a bot. You only have one non-bot team in your series.

Is there any specific starting strategy I should follow? I applied for a team in the West Indies already. Sorry if this is a repost, I dont have time (The Revs are on in 20 min.!) to check through four huge threads.

Lesson learned - my team is not strong enough to TIE against a Division II team. Runrate through ten over of 7.0. Of course my pitch is hard and fast but damn - not a good start.

I never expected to win but I would have liked to have kept it close.
