There are teams that are sponsored by Phillips or Coke or whatever and those are fine but I was interested in knowing some of the more off the wall sponsors.

Just as an example if there was company that sold port-a-potties. That would be a sponsor that you don't see every day.

The Super Furry Animals (a pretty popular band) sponsored Cardiff City in their Welsh Cup matches a few years ago.

Wet Wet Wet sponsored someone in Scotland as well.

Skint.

Fatboy Slim's record label who sponsor his home club, Brighton and Hove Albion.

A few years ago, when they were in divison 3, they played Barnet, who were sponsored by a mens magazine called Loaded.

Hence it was - Skint v Loaded.

Chievo Verona had a deal with various movie companies and had "Bad Boys II" as one of their sponsors and then when the movie "Anaconda" came out, they wore special snakeskin jerseys.

Otherwise, they are sponsored by Italian food company Paluani, who makes Pannetonne and other sweet treats.

Napoli are owned by a Movie director/producer, so whenever one of his movies comes out, it's advertised on their shirts.

And Fulham used to be sponsored by Pizza Hut.

Yeah, Atletico Madrid had the same deal, they were sponsored by Paramount studios, I think and carried movie titles on their shirts.

Although the Spanish FA stopped them from wearing a spider-web shirt for the release of Spiderman 2.

A dutch lowranked (non-professional) side was sponsered by a coffeeshop. They had a shirt with a picture of a big joint on it.

It was banned by the local government after a few matches but they made the media.

Didn't a team have Target as a sponsor and it had a target right in the middle of the shirt?

Didn't a team have Target as a sponsor and it had a target right in the middle of the shirt?Even better. Their shorts had a target on each butt cheek. Don't remember the team, though -- think it was central American.
