England Lost to Northern Ireland

Welcome to BigSoccer.

1. If you are going to reveal the result of a match in your thread -- that's ANY result of ANY match -- be sure and put an [R] in your thread title to warn people to steer clear of that thread if they don't want to know the result yet.

2. Might've been a good idea to specifically mention in the thread title that you were going to reveal the Eng/NI result.

3. There are already several excellent threads regarding seeding and European qualifiers, and their significance towards the U.S. Try this one (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=221854) or this one (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211492).

Not to be argumentative, merely asking for guidance. How long after a match are we expected to respect that rule? Surely something like the US-T&T match is passed the statute of limitations, right?

I don't know if there is a specific rule about this, but 1-2 days seems to be the norm around here.

IMHO, the [R] rule is completely outdated and needs to be done away with. Anyone who comes to this site on a FIFA WCQ game day and discovers a result he didn't want to know about deserves whatever they get.

I am sorry but I happen to disagree with you on this one. Today for example, I taped several games and will watch them after I get home from work and the US game is over, but that should not prevent me from going on the US board to look at all the pre-game talk for fear of seeing another result. I think the [R] rule works great most of the time.

Let me amend my original reply. Anyone who goes online at all and expects to not see results from World Cup qualifiers deserves to have those results spoiled.

And that, my friend, is one of the most sensible comments I have seen you make over the years....just giving a little credit.
