No offence, GP, but i'm reminded of an article i just read yesterday. Dave Matthews Not That Into Himself Anymore-The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/39670)
That article was hilarious.

Hubby is a car guy and unfortunately I sometimes remember what I try to tune out when he is rambling on about car stuff.......kind of like what he does when I ramble on about Arsenal! ;) :D

Government Relief Workers Mosey In To Help
FEMA representatives call out to survivors, "Show us your tits for emergency rations!"
NEW ORLEANS—Federal Emergency Management Agency director Michael Brown, leading a detachment of 7,500 relief workers, moseyed on down to New Orleans Monday afternoon. "Well, I do declare, it's my job to see if any of these poor folks need any old thing," Brown said from his command rocker on the command post porch, adding, "Mighty hot day, ain't it?" Follow-up teams of emergency relief workers are expected to begin ambling into the Gulf Coast region as early as this weekend. "They should be getting the trucks good and warmed up anytime now, and they'll be cruising into town just as soon as all the reservists stroll in," said Brown, who is currently at his desk awaiting offers of food, water, and evacuation buses to roll in from "somewhere or other."

My wife pays some attention to Arsenal (watches the games, but doesn't obsess over them), but knows way too much about cars. I mentioned seeing a new Lotus on the streets yesterday, but disappointed her in that I didn't know what model it was (they come in different models?).

The decision to move to decaf isn't seeming wise at the moment.

Feeling comfortable that Tech will get past Duke? We generally don't lose that spectacularly (I've been a fan since the Will Furrer days).

maybe that's the one I am thinking of....the homecoming game circa 96/97...anyways, I agree. Let's see Marcus have a good day...stretch his wings on the field. I like Royal...

Evidently we did lose to Miami of Ohio in 1997. I'd mentally blocked that out. Even with that, their record in '97 was better than any year I was there 1988-1992. I haven't been to a game there since '92, but there was nothing prettier than the field at Lane Stadium on gameday. That was back before they closed off both ends, but I'd imagine it is still a great sight.

I attended the Virginia Tech All-Sports Summer Camp 84-85...when we got in trouble we had to run the steps of Lane...fun!
I was fortunate enough to have a brother there 94-98 (saw when we beat miami at home when they were ranked (95 I believe) and attended myself 96-....01 (I know, the 5 year plan). I was able to see Blacksburg transform from pre-vick to post...pretty cool!
EDIT: it is effn incredible there now for games. Night games esp. I really hope you can go see a game there again.

Wow, the run down the stairs must have been a little scary. At least you got to visit the crappy seats my friends and I ended up with for every game (truly, even those seats were nice since I don't remember ever being further from the middle than the 35 yard line). Were peope still smuggling liquor into the stadium in sealable plastic bags when you were there?
Yeah, I've definitely got to get back there for a game. My wife and I stopped there a couple years ago while driving up to Northern Virginia. I've got a picture on my desk of my kids standing on the Drill Field as a freezing wind whips by (I enjoyed the walks across it to class, I thought they should too).
