What do these players (Kirovski, Mathis, Klein, Olsen, Mulrooney, Jason Kreis, Brian Dunseth .... ) have to do in order for them to be able to play (again) for the national team, i hope kissing Bruce's *ss is not the case. Looks like there's no light at the end of the tunnel for them.

they've all had their shots. Of the bunch, Kreis is one that might have a complaint, but I think Bruce's judgement that he is too undersized and slow for the type of game he plays to be effective at the next level.

Klein was on Bruces radar until he got hurt. continued good form might seem him back as cover for others.

Mathis....who knows. I'm sure all of US soccer would love to see him find the form he had before the knee injury. but it hasn't been their and the teams is doing fine without him.

Olsen...the team has gown past him and he had his chances in the Gold Cup. His days with the national team are done.

This is your list of players who deserve a chance?

Kirovski: slow, nearly worthless this year for the Galaxy
Mathis: RSL fans are calling for the team to drop him by next year; Bruce had him in camp and sent him back; has lost nearly all his athleticism.
Klein: Been injured; when he fully recovers, expect to see him again.
Olsen: Got the look at D-mid, not enough athleticism or experience.
Mulrooney: Broken, which is too bad because he was playing great...probably would have played at Gold Cup if he had kept his form.
Kreis: Short, slow, old, had his shot...(think a much less athletic Joe Max Moore) But we do love him in Utah. :D
Dunseth: Slow, horrible with the ball, prone to boneheaded mistakes, probably not in the top 10 for defenders in MLS...why do you want him?

Some players do appear to deserve a shot or a better look...Twellman, Cunningham, Marshall, and looky here, they're going to Guat. So what exactly was your point?

mathis is the only player on that list that brings things to the nats that arent already there. (free kicks and pure striking- for the always elusive "scoring from outside the box")

i wouldnt be completely shocked to see him included- just for the danger he brings, but realistically i dont see any games for any of them.

Kirovski was the only one who got praise from Real Madrid after the Galaxy-RM friendly recently and was the member of ManU youth team along with Beckham, Giggs etc and played for bunch of euro big clubs. Dunseth recently played for euro club before coming to MLS and was the member of 2000 Olympic but was injured and didn't go. Olsen, skillfull, was playing for Crystal Palace of 1st leagea in england and now plays for MLS champ, DCU. Kreis, is simply good scorer. Molrooney, good attacking midfielder MLS has ever had. Mathis, if his head a little cool, he is a good long distance shoter and was playing for Hannover96.

Kirovski's greatest asset is that he's Sampson' hollaback girl
:D

Kirovski:He sorta sucks.
Mathis: Looking pretty washed up at the moment.
Klein: Productive MLS player, Im not sure his style translates into what Bruce wants.
Olsen: Has been looking pretty iffy of late.
Mulrooney: Probably the best player on your list, just injured, very injured.
Kreis: Not going to happen. Has always been on the outside looking in and that wont change.
Dunseth: Are you high?

I've only watched two or three RSL games this year, and I've always been a Mathis fan, but from what I've seen, he's just a shadow of the player he once was. Maybe some RSL fans can correct me if I'm wrong.

Mulrooney was never a real "creator" attacking mid. He was more of a hard-working holding mid. At his best with San Jose, he partnered with Ekelund in a flat central midfield. He ran around cutting off and winning balls and Ekelund held 'em in traffic, then set 'em up to Donovan to start something going in the attack. Like a junior, junior Steven Gerrard you might say. I like him as a player but I dont think he brings anything that the nats don't already have, and he didn't really impress much in the chances that he had at that level.

The ONE guy that's not being talked about, that's pretty much off the radar that I think MIGHT have something to contribute, especially in tight defensive battles is Brian Mullan.

Mullan would seem to add something to the right mid spot that seems to be the weakest on the field for the US, currently (even though Ralston scored against Mexico). For that matter, Klein would seem to, also.

A healthy Mulrooney would be better sitting beside/behind Reyna than Armas. Key word -- healthy.

As a Crew fan, I've always liked Dunseth, and still regret the fact he's not here. As a US fan, we're in deep if we need to call him up for anything beyond an MLS-only friendly, and even then I'd be concerned.

Arena wants nothing to do with Kreis, and has given up on Mathis (or Mathis gave up on himself...however you want to word that). Kirovski, apparently, finally ran out of chances to show up and do nothing. I believe his swan song was last year versus Grenada in Columbus, when Casey got hurt, and Kirovski spent the next 60-65 minutes running around getting in people's way...our people's way.

Olsen isn't good enough anymore. He got hurt, he's recovered as much as he ever will. His new peak is midlevel MLS. His teammate Josh Gros would be a better call-up at this point.
