Four days away and things are looking "bleak"... again... thank God for a deep bench.

Rested:
-------
Salihamidzic
Ismael
Lizarazu
Karimi
Scholl
Jeremies
Pizarrro

Out:
----
Makaay
Santa Cruz
Demichelis
Ottl (ankle ligaments... lengthy layoff)

Hopefuls on international duty:
-----------------------------
Deisler-Ballack-Schweinsteiger (Germany)
Lucio-Ze Roberto (Brazil)
Willy Sagnol (France)
Owen Hargreaves (England)

Possible lineups??
------------------
Magath tends to rest players after lengthy international duty, but I doubt he can afford to this time around. Could be time for Mehmet Scholl to start a match. Sounds like, according to the article, that Magath is considering a 4-5-1 formation... which is not unlike him to do on the road. Could be we see Karimi directly behind a single forward as well.... who knows. I don't even know where to begin with this one.

"Magath was desperately hoping Hargreaves comes through unscathed, as his defensive options are close to exhausted after injuries to Martin Demichelis and Andreas Ottl ", fcbayern.de

This is really a serious problem that we lack a depth in both DM and CB areas. IT's just an early stage of the term but we already face this situation. Guess if either Lucio or Ismael gets injured, man don't know what's gonna happen.

the same thing that would happen to ALL other squads across the planet if 5-6 players got injured!

lets not be greedy guys - we're fine - injuries are part of the struggle of a season! they hit every squad!

im not saying that Bayern isnt gonna do well without Makkay, I mean, this is the Bundesliga were talking about, and it is Nuremburg, its just that if we had Makkay he would have scored more than 1 goal, maybe not the case with JPG or Pizzaro or Roque

Santa Cruz rated doubtful (http://fcb-www-02.odmedia.net/en/news/news/2005/05431.php?fcb_sid=54bcbd371a4b25fca6e97e83f1e60322)

Well we could do three things..

1)Put Pizza upfront by himself
2)Pair Karimi with Pizza
3)Pair JPG with Pizza.

I think Magath will go with the third option since Pizza and JPG have a better understanding than Karimi and Pizza..

It's highly unlikley that Magath will put Pizzaro upfront by himself.

might have to go to a 4-5-1 again :(

or he could Brazzo up front, like he did against Chelsea. What a nightmare.

Again.... no one included Brazzo in the starting lineup... and correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't he started every game this season? (you would think I am the world's biggest Brazzo fan... just trying to read Magath's mind). Brazzo starts at either RM, LM, or LB. I say left mid and Ze Roberto sits with all the other German internationals with the exception of Ballack. This seems to be Magath's trend... then again... we shall see. Also, as mentioned, when down in striking force up top, Magath tends to play a 4-5-1 when playing away from home in the Bundesliga.

Based on the past trends of Felix and adding my own personal touch (Scholl), I think the lineup will be the following formation:

4-5-1

.................Kahn
Sagnol....Lucio...Ismael...Lizarazu
.............Hargreaves
Brazzo......Ballack.......Karimi
...............Scholl
..............Pizarro

Kind of hillarious that no one ever rates Brazzo as a starter, but he always seems to start.
