So who wants to do soccer travel...my roomate just dropped on me(right after I was sent the invoice and agreed to the payment plan  )
First, you should bitchslap your roommate and then when you're done, kick him in the head.
So you got lodging and airfare and tickets already? You know, you could always put that on e-bay once all the tickets are gone. Someone's going to want to go and not decide on going until February or March or even May.

Yeah I'd bitchslap him and kick him except he lives out in California now  . I hadn't actually bought anything. I had just agreed in principal to do a soccer travel package and was waiting on his payment before sending in the signed invoice and first payment. I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure I'm not legally bound to anything. It'd just be nice to finally get my Germany trip settled(I've been in contact with soccertravel.com since June, waiting for the roommate to come through. He finally does and then a week later he drops out.) If soccer travel doesn't work out, I've talked to Chad(Merlin), the guy who did the carbombs with 'Celo about possibly going with him and some other people. If anyone has any groups that need/can take another person, let me know.

Ryanair only flys in/out of the smaller airports. So you have to figure in the extra time (and money) to get between the airports.
if someone of you prefer to flight from London to Germany (Cologne)
please check: germanwings.....www.germanwings.de
with Germanwings you can make very cheap flights in Europa:
within Germany connection from Berlin-Cologne or Munich..and
other european cities.....
It is better than Ryanair because the airport in Cologne is not
far away from the city

Oh, wasn't aware. It was the only airport under Frankfurt in the search I did. Is the main airport in Frankfurt then FRA?
Yeah, Frankfurt is FRA. Frankfurt Hahn is HHN.
Hahn is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The countryside is beautiful, but it's not close to any big cities. If would be a great place to fly into if the US got drawn into the group that plays in Kaiserslautern though.
Do you have Google Earth? I just made a KMZ file for HHN's location. Download from this link (http://www.lastort.com/GoogleEarth/FrankfurtHahn.kmz).

So Wizhawk...what are the high level details of the arrangements you have? Where you staying, when you going, what are you expecting?

Wizhawk, I'd certainly buy one set of 3 tickets from you :) , and pay a premium for it...as long as tickets are transferable, which I'm not sure they are...
As for the rest of it I think I'll freelance, except the flight which i'll get as soon as I got tickets

I don't have tickets. I was about to buy a package that included tickets and housing from a travel agency called soccer travel. If you are interested, their website is www.soccertravel.com. Or, if you want, PM me and I'll email the agent I was doing the arrangements with and ask if I can transfer my package to you(my price, since I first contacted him in June, is about $500 less than the current price quote on the website).

If you stay at our hostel in Berlin you are welcome to travel with us to games and party or what not in the downtime.
I know Mikeymike15 will station in Berlin too, so you have a couple contacts that will be there.
You also don't need a partner to book airfare, so you could go ahead and do that.
And re: tickets, you have FIFA, USSF, or the 3rd party sites. Everything will come out to far cheaper than Soccer Travel anyways.

I was able to find on Ryanair, round trip from London to Berlin at GBP 0.01 both ways. Tax and fees would probably make it about $50.
But from New York to Berlin it is about $750, and New York to London was about $700... so it didn't really make much sense to do that.
If you can find a big difference, like $100 or $150, then those intra-European flights will help out.

Anyone interested in going to the US vs Germany Friendly Match on March 23, 2006 in Dortmond Germany, ought to look into this. British Airways (BA) has RT tickets to London from NYC for as little as $392 (that includes taxes and fees) in March - Add $50 for a RT ticket to Dussledorf via Ryanair, and you've got the whole trip for less than $450. Need to book by Sept 22 for the BA rates, not sure when the Ryanair deals end.

Is there a full schedule of US Friendly/Warm Up for WC 2006 games available online?

As far as I know, the US only has that friendly against Germany scheduled for next year as of right now, and if they're drawn into the same group, then they'll cancel it.

So...
If they do play this match....
Do I see my first USMNT game in a friendly against Germany, or do I wait until the first game of the 2006 World Cup?
I will be in Europe for 6 months so I won't be flying from the US

Just a random question, but are any U.S. supporters going to base themselves in Wurzburg? I seem to recall that some Columbus-based supporters will be there, but wanted to see if anyone else was.

Buddy and I are staying in Cologne. First of all, we're staying w/ a friend for free which is always nice and the proximity of venues is great.

I emailed my crew to see if that makes sense for us. It is really centrally located and the ICE stops there. Could it be any better?
Looking now for accomidation. . .

I'll be spending some time in Cologne and Kaiserslaurtern have friends in both places. Also, Cologne is near Holland, so I'll be making a supply ;) run at the begining of the month.
