I need some help/advice please.

Going to Munich for June 18th game, and round of 16 on the 25th.

Leaving from Washington, D.C. (IAD).

Looking to book the flight before Dec. 9th. The best I am seeing for a flight to Munich is about $1,050 with one stop.

Any advice on a cheaper flight from DC?

Try flying to London and then connecting to either BMI or EasyJet (not sure if either fly to Munich though). Or, you can also try flying Aer Lingus to Dublin and then looking for a cheaper flight fron DUB to MUN on RyanAir.

Ryanair doesn't fly to Southern Germany.

@Shark
You won't probably find flights from IAD to (Southern) Germany below $1000.
In my view the problem is your flight from/to IAD. Those flights are already quite full.
Maybe you can ask for "student prices" or other special fares.

I'm about to jump on 4 tickets to the round of 16 game in Munich.

Using www.euroteam.info for getting the tickets (about $450 each for cat. 3).

Anyone see any pitfalls purchasing the tickets this way (not through FIFA)?

Should I do now (before draw on Dec. 9th) to avoid any jump in price if draw looks good for this game (1A v/s 2B)?

Any worries about the security imprinting on the tickets going this route?

Your help/advice would be much appreciated.

I think Palemero bought his tix from there as well.

That's the site I'm looking at for my tix too.

My question is, has anyone ever dealt with them in the past?
If so, did they deliver as promised?

I've used them a couple of times.
First time they delivered nice Man U tickets but they were expensive.
Second time was to a Real Soc game (v Barca) in which they promised the tickets up to the day before and then said sorry too bad for you and left me hanging. They refunded the money but the guarantee is completely worthless.
Bottom line is they will try to get your tickets but if not you will be left with nothing and no recourse except to get your money back. It could also happen that the tickets you buy at the Euroteam price now end up costing more on the black market and they just elect to not take the loss.
Have a couple of sources working different games and hopefully they will all get filled is the best strategy I can think of (which I intend to utilize but not with them!).

I just bought tix from Euroteam but I haven't received my confirmation via email. It's been one day now...
Anyone who has bought from Euroteam, how quickly did you guys receive your confirmation? On a side note, they wasted no time charging my CC.

I bought my tix for Mex vs Portugal and from one day to another, they went up a little over $400!! Wow, I'm glad I bought them when I did.

I did a check on Razorgator and they seem to have better prices then Euroteam. I'm thinking about making my next purchase from Razor.
Anyone bought from Razo before?

Thanks

Typically Razorgator seems to have more expensive prices. Euroteam is a little slow on emails, sometimes I have had to email them twice, but by then I get a response. And I have an order # which I got through email. You can login with your # and view your order.

Cool thanks bro.

Yeah when I placed my order, I didn't write my confirmation number down because my dumbas$ just figured I'd get it in the email. Well like I said, no email yet confirming my order but my card got charged.
Eh we'll see...

I did a check and at least right now, Razor has better prices.
I'm thinking of buying some round of 16 tix as well.
We'll see.

Thanks again!

does anyone know if they will have late trains during the world cup.
i'm looking at the schedule, and many games start at 9pm.. which means, 11pm or later end time ====> which means, i will need to take the train at 1am or so..

my housing during the world cup will be in frankfurt so i need to take the train back each night after the game.. is this even a possibility? do you think it'll be dangerous to be taking to train so late at night? O_O

i've never been to the world cup or germany before, i don't know what to expect.

Somebody posted earlier that the train schedules would be extended.

I'm in Berlin and will need to go back as well, so I'm with ya on that one.

Woo hoo! Don't have tickets for any games yet (damn USSF), but I just booked my airfare. American Airlines to Paris: $110 total for two tickets (using Air miles!)

Just party all night, get some breakfast, and take the early train back. There will be thousands of people in your same situation all over the country. From my experience Germany is safe, and they'll definitely step up the security for June and July. If you see a bunch of violent drunks, stay away. If you are being a violent drunk, well... you might get to meet der deutschen Polizei (http://www.polizei.de/) but hopefully not this Polizei (http://www.maskon.com/marti/Evelyn/Images/July%202005/polizei-1.jpg) .

There have been suggestions on the Die Bahn site that trains will be running later, if not round the clock during the tournament.

OK Amigos,

Here's my tip of the day. There is a $573 Airfare from NYC to DUS (Dusseldorf) that just popped up on Orbitz. (that fare is AFTER TAXES & FEES). This is via a German Airline called LTU (ltu.de). It looks like they only fly on Sundays and Thursdays. Try search dates of June 11 (depart) and June 22 (return) to see one possible hit. Good luck with your tickets.

There's also an Iberia flight from JFK to Dusseldorf for $636 (including taxes, it's listed at like $540 or something). I was planning to take that one but my dad gave me a bunch of miles on Continental for Christmas so I'm cashing those in to fly to Frankfurt instead.
