two defensive teams that were not attractive?
maybe one of them, but definitely not the other...FC Porto worked like a clockwork...if you've ever watched the FC Porto 4-1 Lazio game, or the FC Porto X Lyon games, you would know what I mean...how could you say that a team with the creative genius of Deco or Carlos Alberto's flair did not play attractive football? surely you did not watch their games or else you would not be saying that

let's say that they were much more effective than attractive.it doesn't say they weren't a great team...

I was born in 1982 so i'm going to have to say Porto since that is the only team i've watched.

Porto 2004 was a horrible, diving, cheating team that won a completely unmemorable Champions League season.

That's Newcastle United, NSW, Australia thanks very much - not Newcastle United, Northern England.

Join the legions of jealous bastards that cried when Porto killed the competition in 2004. Don't forget we had also won the UEFA Cup the season before that. What has your team done lately? Or better yet, what have they don ever?

how can that season be unremarkable???
real madrid beaten by monaco
milan beaten by deportivo after being 4-1 up
chelsea beating arsenal for the first time in 17 games(?)... and at highbury
and to cap it off, a final with three brilliant goals from a brilliant team with a brilliant coach. porto killed the competition...BECAUSE THEY WERE SO DAMN GOOD, not because they were 'cheating and diving'.
i like your team in the A-League, but when it comes to europe, think before you speak

I won´t vote because i never saw the Inter 64 team but calling us super defensive team is just wrong, we scored against all our opponents, we dominated all our games except the games against Real Madrid, we went to Manchester and Lyon to attack, only in Coruña we had a more defensive style, the final was just like Mourinho said "they are made to be won not to be played" so we were smarter then Monaco and played like the Italians played their finals during the 90s...
I get the impression that ppl saying we were defensive only saw our game in Coruña and the final against Monaco...We were definitly a very solid team with a great defense but our creativity and attacking power were also fantastic.

Inter 64 defines ultra-defensive football but not Porto 2004. They had used some of those tactics at times but they were very good going forward too. I felt that Porto's UEFA Cup winning side and Porto's CL winning side were two different sides. The UEFA Cup winning side attacked more and the CL side looked rather defensive in contrast. To me, the semi-final was as defensive as it got and it was some of the most boring soccer that I saw. Against Marseille in France, Porto were very impressive and in the final, Porto didn't have a lot of the possesion but they did attack well and the made the most of their opportunities. Porto played cleanly, they didn't hack or dive. There were sometimes when Porto did do a bit of diving but it doesn't giving anyone the right to label the 2004 side in that manner. Porto were very organised, had good tactics and were threatening in attack, especially with Derlei, Deco and McCarthy.
