I sure hope not. I hope we're better than that. We are better than that, aren't we?

PS, just saw other thread on suggestions, great way to fantasize but I'd be really disappointed to hear that anyone actually followed through on those suggestions.

Who the ******** are you, Polyanna?

Seriously, you need to log off and check in at Big********y.com. You're in the wrong place.

"Oh I hope nobody did any mean things to those nice Mexican boys. Goodness, what would that say about us?"

Get a freakin clue you moron.

All I can say to that is, if they do it to us, they suck (though I haven't heard of anything like that recently). If we do it to them, then, well, we suck too.

They've done it to us.

And while we're at it, let's just stop with the chants and cheers that mock or suggest anything negative about opposing teams. After all, that's just rude.

A source revealed that some interesting things did happen with the Mexican players. Apparently phone calls were made, and Marquez got into a verbal fight with a caller.. more on that later :)

Personally I like to think if it makes me laugh, it can't be wrong.

I just got back yesterday from my trip, hence the delay in posting this info. Here is just a part of the PM activities: The Sanchez calls. I was laughing so hard when I heard this story :)

Sanchez was called at some point in the early morning and his roommate Moises answered (the other goalkeeper). Moises tried waking him up twice, but he said Sanchez was sleeping like a log. The caller said he would try later (as he called other players). So he did, and Moises (who was dead tired as well), tried waking Sanchez up again with no luck. The caller insisted, and Moises said he was worried then that Sanchez would get mad at him for waking him up. The PMer assured him it was important and that Sanchez would not get mad ( :) ), and that he should wake him up.
Finally, Sanchez comes to the phone. Apparently he sounds half asleep and grumpy. He asks who was calling. The PMer made up a name. Then PMer asked: “are you ready for tomorrow” Sanchez: “yes, who is this?” PMer “are you ready to lose again?” haha – I guess Sanchez got mad, then PMer asked him how many goals he thought he would allow, and then Sanchez hung up.
I wonder if Sanchez got mad at Moises for putting him through.

More to come.

You must've gotten someone who speaks pretty good Spanish to do the conversing then?

"O-SA-MA, O-SA-MA"

Should we ever have any mercy or respect for the Mexican NT again?? No, I say (or Panama for that matter, but they're a much smaller fish).

As long as my generation exists on this planet, Mexico gets the sh/t end of the stick. I don't care if they treat us nice for 10 consecutive WCQ cycles.

That is AWESOME.
I know, when they told me what they did, I was amazed.

Palermo, these PMers know Spanish. One of them gave me the whole story. Unfortunately they are not on bigsoccer, but some of you may have met them at Columbus.

Marquez calls:
The call was placed very early in the morning. Marquez asked as well “who is this” PMer made up some name and asked him at what minute he expected to get a red card. Marquez got mad and started to swear, PMer took care to reply accordingly and insult him. After a bit, Marquez said: "You wouldn’t say all that if you were here” PMer said that he was in a nearby hotel and would love to meet up with him. After calling his bluff, Marquez hung up. I heard that the swearing and insults going back and forth were hilarious.
