mom: "not at all. it's the capital of Gogols (that means Idiot), not the same thing at all!"

I'd rather say "retards"... :p

But I thought the specialists of Lyonnais bashing were the Marseillais. There's no such thing as an ancient capital for the Parisians anyway ! Paris has been the capital of this country since the Big Bang ; that's what they told me in Jussieu !

well he scored 2 goals over the weekend therefore he could be the player that Lyon need to win the Champions League....

Lol I knew he was a top goalpoacher in Brazil, but these things don't always translate to Europe; see Luis Fabiano.

But from what you said he seams to be the real deal.

You should finished by : dad: "but it's the capital of Gaul!"

yes, i realize my error. even if in french it's la capitale des gaules, it doesn't refer to the people but the place. as julius caesar said: gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres.

this is my lead-in to say that, even if lyon has an undeserved reputation as an introverted little bourgeois backwater, it was the second city of the roman empire. the inhabitants were granted the same rights as romans, and many emperors were born here. next time you see gerland on TV, look for the banner "lugdunum's" at the south end. that was the roman name for the city.

Impressive result against Real, guys. Lyon is my sleeper pick in CL this year. I think 1/4 is likely, but they could easily go further.

If Lyon keep the same determination they will easily make it to the last 8, and possibly to the semis. keep up the good work guys
