Noticed that the Chilean National Team is now kitted out in Brooks apparel. As you may know, Brooks is a running shoe/apparel company that is very loyal to the running-specific market - up until now apparently.

I know this is a bit of an obscure thread, but does anyone out there have ANY info on how Brooks got a start making soccer apparel? Anyone have any info on the FFCH's deal with Brooks?

They had boots on the market in England in 96 when I was over there. I think Gary Liniker may have even endorsed them at one point.

I don't know that I would stray from the 3 stripes to try Brooks soccer shoes, but I wear their shorts to run in and they're fantastic. From the pics I saw of the Chileans, Brooks is providing everything to them except for shoes, including their current playing kits. Looks like a quality jersey, but they're not for sale (yet?) at the SubSide Sports site. Perhaps they haven't received them yet, or they're out of stock.

Gazza used to wear Brooks, Lineker wore Quaser's!
