Hurrican Katrina Disaster Relief

Sam's Army has setup, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, a representative to collect money for disaster relief for the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama -- as well as the greater Gulf Coast region at the US Soccer Fans tailgate prior to the US/Mexico game which begins at 3:30pm in the southwest corner of the VIP Lot.

Those that donate money will receive an Uncle Sam hat, while supplies last. Please help out your fellow citizens of the United States by making a donation to the Red Cross on Saturday.

I think that The Crew are trying to coordinate with the Red Cross to have donations solicited at the gates pre match as well. Bring extra money.

Great idea indeed. All fans, both American & Mexican need to be on the same team for the releif effort.

Nice, this is where i'll bring my check. I've been trying to donate on teh Red Cross site all day but it appears that the demand is so high that the donations page is out of commission. The generosity people appear to be showing is a nice point to take away from what's otherwise a grim situation.

Good call. I saw that OSU is having Red Cross collections points all around the stadium for the entire month of September. They are calling it "A September to Remember" and includes having Red Cross collections points and OSU is donating $2 for all programs purchased in the month of September.

I was hoping Crew/US Soccer would do something similar. A very easy way to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I made my special US-Mexico cookies to as my contribution to the tailgate. I set them down next to the Red Cross people and they were called in to service to help generate money. Want a coookie? Make a donation when you take one, please. Thanks!
