according to this (http://www.alazraq.com/items/index.php?page=article.php&a_id=35963)

FIFA will be testing the intelligent ball (http://www.iber-press.com/content/0149/) in the U17 World Championship in Peru later this month and if proved successful, further discussion on wether the technology will be used in the WC06 or not will take place in Zurich in October.

If there was no controversial decisions in the Chamionship, FIFA will organise a special match to test the new technology.

Personally, I guess this contoversy is why football is a special game... we all like these mistakes when they happen in our favour... and use them as excuses when we lose

and if the intelligent ball is to be used in football, how about using the "challenge the referee's decision" system as in American football?

please discuss....

YES

The controversy will always be there in football, because offside is physically impossible to judge and the referee is only human/incompetent/corrupt. Given the nature of the game today with instant replays and things being analysed to such a degree, you need to introduce measures to bring football in line with its modern setting. Goals are what fundamentally decides games. With the amount of money and the consequences that one goal could involve, it only makes sense to have the definitive answer of if a goal is legitimate or not. That is why Fifa is looking at this and no other measures. As it is electronic, there will be no delay. Everyone is a winner, apart from the teams that have benefited from appalling decisions...

If there was no controversial decisions in the Chamionship, FIFA will organise a special match to test the new technology. So if there's only one close decision, and it works that one time, FIFA will be convinced it will work every time? That doesn't prove it for me!

You need another option in your poll - "I'll wait until I see it."
