Hey everybody!!

I have recently obtained a pair pf blue and black F50+'s - they are really comfy, but in the first time of playing i twisted my ankle and brusied it. Now, i was just wondering if it is because the F50+ doesn't provide enough ankle support or was it most likley to be 'freak' occasion where my ankle gives way. Because it makes me nervous about playing in them again because i dont want to twist it again and maybe break it - so i've been playing in my total 90's the last couple of sessions.

I was wondering if it may also be that i have to kind of 'get used to wearing blades instead of HUGE studs) - i have the firm ground F50+ from the soft ground Total 90 III

Also, will the insoles i put in affect the support to the ankle? (lightweight, pro and comfort)

Thank you for reading my thread and i appologise if any questions are insanly obvious or rather stupid.

Any helpful coments welcome!

Cheers!

hey blastoff...i think what happened was just bad luck...i've had the pearl/red f50+ since feb and i've never had any problems around my ankle region...so don't worry about the boots, they're absolute class. just look out for wear in and around the toes. about your insole question, i haven't felt any differences regarding ankle support with each one. however, just a couple of days ago i had to play with a broken big toenail, i had the pro insole already inside my boots and i couldn't even put them on, switched to light and i felt much more comfortable.

I also don't like the F50(+)s because of the missing stability. The Pulses provide much more support and stability. Your injury definitely was bad luck, but maybe if you had shoes with better support or a heel counter, it weren't that bad...

Actually it's funny you should mention it because I noticed for the first time on wednesday that the heel is very unsupportive on my F50s. I don't know why I noticed it then and never before, but it could have been because I'd left the laces really loose as I was going to be playing for a while.

I agree. there's a lack of stability. which, along with being unlucky, played a role in your twisted ankle.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

I have played in them for an hour or so tonight and they were fine and my ankle was good - although i did have a support on - but in a game my shin pads will act as a support - because i have the ankle guards to.

I wouldn't count on it. They'll stop it hurting if you get kicked there but they won't support the ankle in the way that a normal support, or a thicker heel counter would.

Depends what your used to playin in. Some boots have more support than others, to be honest ive played in a varied amount of boots over the years and never had any ankle probs appart from when some people have gone home with bits of it attached to there studs. Point is thought if youve got a problem with the boots support you may find you should look into buildin up your natural support and strenghten your ankles.
