The heel of my Nike Vapors II's hurt extremely bad. I put pool balls in the heels today for about 5 hours and it worked wonders for about half an hour. Then the pain came back. Can anyone give me some advice on Vapors? Will this heel pain go away? Do they need to break in? What works? What doesn't?

most of the players on the list get high-quality-custom-made-for-their-foot vapors nothing like the ones they sell in stores. But if YOU like them thats cool, thats all that matters.

i bought heel pads and tried them tonight, and they actually caused me more pain than with them out. odd. so than you're saying that they will break in? cause then i'll be happy~!!!! :)

they're just such a bitch to break in. it's ridiculous. the heel part of the shoe looks really cool, but it's ridiculously painful to break in. mine have just started easing up in pain. but the pain they cause isn't a normal pain. it's like ah my foot is being cut into very badly, not, oh im getting a blister and it hurts.

i am gona have to agree with him. Seriously, it should not be that painful to break in cleats. we all have stories of bad cleat experiences taht we learn from. if you tried everything that people told you to try and you are still in pain, maybe its telling you something..... I am not trying to burst your bubble, i admire your dedication to your vapors, you obviously really wanna play in vapors but you shouldnt have to kill yourself in order to do so.

i'm not killing myself, it's just been rough, and i hope that they do break in.

i'll be most mad if i wasted $90 on a pair of shoes that dont work.

Citing people paid to wear the shoes really invalidates your argument. Also, as someone else pointed out, the models they wear are completely different than the ones you can purchase.

Yes, and the boots are obviously to blame  Something tells me the injuries had more to do with it.

As someone else pointed out the players on that list probably get them totally custom fitted. I'm sure I'd like vapours if I had a custom pair made but the truth is my feet don't fit in a stock pair!

it's ridiculously painful to break in.

I wouldn't exactly say they are ridiculously painful to break in. Just about the same as any other pair of boots for me. Obviously everyone's different but the Vapors have benefited me immensely and it has been well worth the hassle. Keep the faith!

It's not a case of the boots 'not working' it's a case of you have to persist with breaking them in. The first pair you ever get are a biatch to break in but it becomes easier with time. Having had the original Vapors, now THOSE were a b!tch the first time. I just wore them to training and when the pain kicked in, I changed boots. There's no point in injuring yourself trying to break in a boot because they will mould in such a way that injures you in the future, you get me?

Just remember every time you change out of them, see how long you could tolerate it for. If it's half an hour last time, it will probably be 45 minutes to an hour this time. Therefore at that rate it will take 4 training sessions to fully break them in at that rate. Think that as long as you can play in them for 90 minutes, that's all that matters. Try what I did, because I think it 1) breaks the boot in, and 2) makes your feet more tolerant to the boot. Therefore the boot and foot are both pulling in the same direction. I am now at the point where I don't need to break Vapor's in anymore, partly because they made the boot better, but partly because my feet can tolerate them.

Hope that helps!

Here is wat i think: If vapors fit your feet right, you will most likely love them and wear them alot in comparison to your other boots, but if they dont fit your feet right, they will be thrown in your closet or given away and you will hate them b/c you think they are so uncomfortable...

I personally stuck with vapors for over a year before i stopped getting blisters at all, and now i love them sooooo much....
