View Full Version : The Demotion Thread

At the end of last season I started a thread for all of us who were celebrating autopromotion or a series championship. Well my friends, today I'm here to tell you that I'm one million times happier to have finished dead last and autodemoted out of dv!
I was proud of my new team for doing so well in their first full season but I was completely outclassed in v.48. Like 8-0 on a regular basis outclassed. I almost feel bad for the one sucker who must've pic'd twice when I mots'd twice to grant me the absolute fluke of 6 undeserved points.
From the looks of things I think I'm going to go straight back up as my new series vi.99 seems pretty weak. There are some active users so I may be speaking too soon, but to be honest I'm not sure the Heathens will be ready for dv at the end of next season either so I hope I get some competition.
So drink up, all of you who don't have to worry about humiliating losses and murderous fan clubs, and let's celebrate our glorious failure together!

To be fair, your team wasn't quite ready for DV and your series was pretty tough. Good luck and be sure to buy a midfield within the next 16 weeks.

Nothing wrong with being demoted. You'll be back that's for sure.

You really need to improve your midfield. Since you are only pulling in the mid 20's HS for midfield you risk losing alot of your games this season as well. I finished 4th in my series, VI.258, and I average 33 in midfield and 132 in total HS.
What do you train?

Hee hee hee, thanks for the encouragement guys!
I didn't start the thread to be sarcastic, I really am happy to be demoting, and I knew I wasn't ready for promotion when I was promoting.
Believe it or not, I train pm. However, due to the newness of my team and my need for cash I've been cycling trainees out pretty quickly. I've actually overachieved this season because I met all my goals for team development, met one that I set for next season and will probably be able to buy a solid/passable trainer right before the new season, despite starting the season near the economic red line due to stadium expansions.
I have a few young excellent (or soon-to-be) cm's with usefull secondaries who should drastically improve my mf rating this season, especially with the new coach and the off-season stamina training. I'm finally going to keep a formidable as well which should help.
I know there are some tough dvi's out there but I've already scouted my new series and it isn't one of them. I'm confident that my team can develop into a mediocre dv squad this season and I'm hopeful that I'll find my way into a more manageable dv series.
Isn't there anyone else who's happy to be going down? Where's my v.48 partner bigbrooklylou hiding?

Everything makes alot more sense now. If you have been selling off players to increase your stadium and get a solid trainer with passable leadership, those were all great moves. Hope you have a great season. :)

as long as you have a plan then you are fine... well, as long as its a good plan ;)
I'm down as well. Back to VI. 1 win and 1 tie in Div V.

I am playing a relegation qualifier with murderous team spirit, but luckily my opponent is a bot so I should be able to win and stay up.

fox,
Considering you were in the 34th ranked series out of 256 in USA DV, demotion shouldn't worry you. Like others have said as long as you have a good plan layed out.
Couldn't tell in your latest post, but sounded like you are going to upgrade your coach to a Solid/Passable soon and mentioned at the beginning of the season. Wasn't sure if you meant the upcoming season (27) or season 28.
If you are going back to DVI and don't feel that you will need to really manage TS to promote back, then you should consider waiting a season to get that coach. You could possibly be wasting a season of his leadership in DVI where it really isn't necessary to win the series, but will be very useful to help you maintain your status in DV when you promote back for season 28
Just my opinion, but something to consider.

I'm down to v.28 after a 7th place finish in d4. I won two games and tied once.
To be fair, IV.43 was like in the top fifty for series strength in D4.
Isn't bolido united a BSer?
