I personally think this would be the best formation for what we have, with some shuffling to 4-3-3 depending on injuries and rested players. Five up with a back which has been for the most part okay would not only give them a bit of relief, but maybe we'll finally see goal or ten, heh.

That's how I think you should play too. Any ideas Souness had about switching to 451/433 should be put on the backburner now you've signed Owen, as he works best in a 442.

I would agree as well except I am afraid Emre will be healthy before Dyer and that is Dyer's questionable status that necessitated the Solano deal.

Nothing would please me more than to be proven wrong about Dyer's status so if someone has contrary info please post it.

The 442 works...but I think the 433 has it's own merits...and should be used in offensive situations.

We have to have an attacking force. There will always have to be 2 up front. We have the striker man power. We have more attack than defence. We have to force the ball into thier side of the field but the back 4 must be solid. Luque will be moved around i think from the middle to the forward constantly. :D

I'm never convinced about Bambi (despite some strong performances alongside Boum.) You can't help but think an error is just around the corner with him...

I think it is likely that one of Owen, Shearer, Dyer, and Emre will always be injured. I see Luque staying wide left, Dyer spelling Owen and Shearer when they can't go, and Nobby starting wide right mostly because the others that would start there are busy on filling other holes.

I also am suprised that Bowyer isn't getting any mention. He has been our most dangerous attacker so far this season. True, that is our team's problem, but it is also a testament to Bowyer's tenacity and talent.

Parker has been splendid as a defensive mid so far, but I am hoping Toon change that position so he gets forward more (as he did at the end of his time at The Valley).

I'm going to love watching this team...

now im not so sure I should take out Boumsong and insert Bramble as Boum has been poor and Titus has great potential, I still want us to use Taylor as a central defender
