A wave of concern swept through Bayern on Wednesday as reports came in of an injury to one of the club's most crucial players. Roy Makaay was taken to hospital after damaging a knee in training with the Netherlands squad, but the all-clear was later sounded for the time being as medics found no evidence of a serious injury.
"It's not hurting, but I can't put my full weight on the knee, and some fluid has gathered there," Makaay told fcbayern.de on Wednesday afternoon. The 30-year-old had already been discharged from hospital at this point.
Makaay inadvertently collided with team-mate Theo Lucius in the morning training session and twisted his right knee. The initial diagnosis suggested the ligaments and the meniscus were still intact and in place.
The goal-getter is set for a more detailed examination by the Netherlands team doctor on Thursday morning.
fcbayern.dewill publish the latest information as soon as it becomes available.

we don't need him that much for the next two games and he should not be rushed back to the team and he should be back in a week

Yea, its better not to rush him...plus, him being healthy in the long run and for more important games, especially the CL, is more vital than breaking the goal scoring records.
Maybe JPG will get a start now? Or Felix might play Piza up front alone and Karimi behind him, I don't want to see Santa Cruz start with Piza.

Torn ligament misery for Ottl
Andreas Görlitz, sidelined for nine months with cruciate ligament damage, has resumed the first-team programme and appears well on the way to recovery, a fortunate development as fellow defender Andreas Ottl suffered an injury setback while appearing for the reserves in Darmstadt at the weekend. The utility man, new to the professional ranks this summer, sustained ankle ligament damage in a challenge and now faces a lengthy lay-off.
There was better news of Martin Demichelis and Hasan Salihamidzic. The Argentine went jogging on Monday and hopes to resume the full training programme in just a few days. Brazzo needs a little longer, but should be running again shortly. Another cruciate ligament victim is back on the training ground as Philipp Lahm has also been cleared to start running. "I'm feeling good and making progress," the Germany starlet said on Monday.
Season is still young , but the question remains on who can pick it up, when Roy is out? I think Magath feels more confident this year. I doubt he will be going to a 4-5-1 like he did last year when a forward was out.

Maybe it would be better for him to just quit the NT..its not like he will ever be a starter. not as long as van basten is in charge..
He should just do what Stam, Gullit and Bergkamp have done in the past..fully dedicate himself to his club

I think he will after the WC. I think he is a nice guy and wants to help out if needed, but I do agree w/ your sentiment.....he is wasting his time :(

You are both right, I never thought of that, because his quality deserves to be in the NT but it just ain't happening in that system, not as long as van basten and RVN are in it.

He is much better than horseface. That guy gets closer to the corner flag with his shots than the goal.
