Sorry. I was sleeping, since the mass destruction is expected to hit here about 10 tonight. The typhoon is tracking right over top of us right now, though the mountains might throw it off still. The last one literally got to the mountains and circled back.

Good luck, bro. I hope that you come through unscathed. BTW, talked to a girl tonite with grandparents in Taichung, i told her i have a buddy that lives there. ;)

I'm not entirely sure, but I did propose this title for the last thread, so perhaps the rep belongs to me? :D

Damn, hope you fare well through the storm!
Man, New Orleans is totally screwed. I was watching the news this morning and I am not sure how they are going to fill in the breach of the levees. That much water moving at those rates is VERY powerful. I think they are going to have to hope the water levels drop some and then they'll have to sink barges or ships to stem the flow. It is going to be awhile. For example, if a slow moving flood can pick up a house and move it, imagine how little effect the 3000 lb sand bags had that they threw in the breach yesterday!

yeah, I'm really feeling sorry for the people who've been affected... I've been through some crap in my life, but nothing like that. I was very disgusted with parts of NBC's coverage of the incidents.

He posted yesterday. He is in Lake Charles which is very close to the Texas border and far away from the insanity of New Orleans (about a 3-4 hour drive).

As a coastal engineer and someone who deals with water flows, waves and storm surge all the time, when they say filling the breach is an engineering nightmare, they REALLY mean it. I am sure the Army Corps of Engineers is going nuts trying to figure out what to do. I don't envy their job right now.
I think it is going to be quite some time before it is all fixed and they let people back in. My prediction is that it will be 2-3 months before NO is somewhat up and running and a year before it is all back to 'normal'.
Damn.

OK, so this is a day late (yesterday was busy at work), but did anyone else see Prison Break on Monday night? I think I'm hooked!

Morning guys. I was going to watch Prison Break because it actually sounded pretty cool, but frankly I would never remember to watch it unless it came on at 10 or later. And before you ask, I do not have tivo! ;)

It started at 8 on Monday, but normally it'll be on Mondays at 9. They have a podcast for it if you want to catch up.
Anyway, I'm in a weird mood today; I have projects to work on for work, but need other people to provide input. Said people are not available today. I have half a mind to go to a movie....

I guess I should clarify myself- I do not have anything to have a podcast on either....... :) ;)
I'll meet you at the movies! :D

It's a date! Hmm, what's playing at Peoples Plaza in Glasgow?

It really is. Saw it opening night and my head hurt so much from laughing so hard.
