I remember reading somewhere that part of the reason that the Kinks were never as big as the Beatles or Stones here in the States was that it had something to do with a fallout between the Kinks management and the Teamsters Union and roadies. It prevented them from touring in the latter half of the 60s. Don't quote me on that though.
Yeah hey were banned by the US musicians union from touring between 65 and 69.
I'm not sure Face to Face through Arthur would've done very well in the states though anyway... they're very english albums. Maybe we can thank the ban FOR them.

The Kinks were pretty big in the 70's though, were they back to touring when "Lola" and "Paranoia" were hits? I remember them doing some live records. I think that they were big here, but they've just been kinda forgotten since.
Yes, the kinks were biggish in america in the mid 70's through the early-mid 80s... It figures that they also made some of their worst records during this period.

You know what is amazing about our crew here? 2 days ago Jwald was in the middle of a typhoon and yesterday Anti was in an earthquake..........we have to be the coolest group around!

the troll who thought it was a good idea to tell the Arsenal fans about he 1999 FA Cup semi being shown on FSC decided to neg rep me after I neg repped him (not in the good way), he's house18 if anyone wants to join in on the fun!
i also got negged by a Gooner for saying that Arsene needs to be held accountable when the team loses. some people. jeesh

Looks like one of the mods did a little house keeping and erased the thread. What did the idiot expect posting that in the Arsenal forum. If I posted about the Manc FA Cup loss last year in their forum, I wouldn't expect anything less. Oh well.
