One of my favorite bands ever. I'm going to make a pilgrimage to Muswill Hill (a short busride up from finsbury park) on this visit... Now if you want to talk about a band that wasn't cool in the 60's.. (anytime after 65..) ;)

VGPS is my all time favorite album.

I remember reading somewhere that part of the reason that the Kinks were never as big as the Beatles or Stones here in the States was that it had something to do with a fallout between the Kinks management and the Teamsters Union and roadies. It prevented them from touring in the latter half of the 60s. Don't quote me on that though.

Uh, the Beatles weren't exactly doing alot of touring at that time either, were they?

No, but they had made much bigger inroads into this country than the Kinks had.

I like the rumor that Hoffa is buried under Giants Stadium. Its a more pleasant thought than worrying about the toxic waste that is actually buried there.

The Kinks were pretty big in the 70's though, were they back to touring when "Lola" and "Paranoia" were hits? I remember them doing some live records. I think that they were big here, but they've just been kinda forgotten since.

Speaking of Giants Stadium, Green Day was playing there tonight, and I seriously considered going, but no one else felt like joining me.

Not really the best place to see a show anyway. Particularly a Green Day show i would imagine. I don't picture them doing the kind of extravaganza show that it would take to make Giants Stadium an appealing venue.

My prof. was just telling a story about England. Is it true that they eat with their forks upside down? He had a hilarious story about watching a guy eat peas in England.

I'm thinking it was the biggest venue of their tour, so I'm curious if they did anything special.

I never noticed, but i've heard that Europeans use their forks differently. Maybe i didn't notice because I eat steak with my fork in my left and the tines down. But i switch hands when eating veggies, etc. Did that help? ;)
