Pre, during the game, and post match comments...

No idea what to expect from Haiti. If they are any thing like their senior men's team, they shouldn't be a pushover.

With a win Canada would probably qualify for the 2003 World Youth Championships in UAE.

Darn. Couldn't get in. Not that my French is any good. But it would've been nice to hear anyway.

I was bumped off a few times, but I eventually got through. However, it did take a few minutes to connect again.

0-0 still...

Apparently Haiti just missed a glorious chance....

Anyone not listening to the broadcast is missing a treat. The announcer is a nut... oohhh laaa laaa.... etc... etc...

Are they still broadcasting the game?

If so that's one bizarre announcer.

Yeah a few minutes left in the game. The announcer certainly is entertaining...

Yeah. That's the highest note I've heard out of a man in quite a while.

Game over 0-0...

Hmmm... Canada can NEVER do things the easy way.

I was rooting for Canada to come through. Might not be easy now, conceivable Canada could stick on 4 points and it comes down to goal difference.

Haiti always gives us trouble. (well the men anyway). As soon as they knocked out Jamaica I was worried.

Oh well, we're still alive and after two days of torture trying to follow this, I'll actually be able to watch the final match which will be nice.

I speak French and that announcer was *very* hard to understand. It was the cadence that really threw me off. That being said I enjoyed every second of it, though I nearly passed out as it seemed like Haiti was scoring at the end.

cheers,

What exactly do you mean by "the easy way”?
I personally don't think that Canada played any less a good from than the one they played against El Salvador; it just happened that Haiti played at a higher level than they did against the US. We also need not to forget that this Haitian team had to play Jamaica twice to get to this tournament and they also just spent a month in Argentina getting ready for it, playing the reserves of some the mightiest teams there, even tying River plate's reserves 2-2.

Hey, I wasn't saying any thing against Haiti. By the easy way, I meant that Canada would have qualified if they won their second match and not have to worry about the third match. Now they have to wait until the third game (if they qualify) and thus doing it the hard way.
