Two words.

Benoit Pedretti.

So yeah, good luck with Cana for 2006/07... Hope he does well at the Gerland. ;)

He already knew about the competition when he chose us. What Pedretti wanted was european football. That's why he decided to leave OM..

Every fan wants loyal players. But most players put their concerns ahead. It's a sad reality. Like you lost Cana, we lost Essien in the same way

Leaving Lyon to Chelsea is a lot different than going from PSG to Marseille imo...

Yeah, you're right. That's a whole different story. I understand why you're so upset.

I agree with Ganu... Leaving Lyon for Chelsea is a different matter. Cana won't succeed I guarantee it. I bet you he leaves L'OM for Bastia, Troyes or any other smaller club in 2 seasons after seeing Marseille won't be going anywhere.

....maybe he won't maybe he will....I guess we'll have to see won't we.....but none of us know what's best for him.....he knew his situation and decided to act upon it....time will tell if he was wrong or right......but for what is worth he did love PSG and the fans of it...but football is not like it used to be, it's a big business and long are the days gone when players would stay loyal to the club just for the love of it....it's all about the green these days and you have clubs like Chelsea to prove that......

That's true hooligan as well... But Marseille aren't the side they used to be. They have the same hype as Liverpool in England, but they haven't won that many big trophies since their glory days in the early nineties. So okay, Liverpool did win the CL last year but how many times have they won the league in the last 15 years? Therefore it is a club with a major history but it's stuck mid-table and if they challenge for the top spots, Lyon are already gone. But we'll see if Marseille can turn things around. Just look at the players Marseille have who have come and gone, Mido, Drogba, just to name a few and those two have somewhat succeeded but many would question that. It's just that look at Oruma for example or Malouda, or Martlet. Paid major money and they haven't done anything. Same goes for Pedretti, comes in for one season, sees the club isn't going anywhere and leaves for Lyon....

....dude why don't u chill and mind your own business....

Everything that happens here is my business.

I am here for one reason and one reason alone and thats Cana...

I think you've satiated yourself. Go ******** up some other board.

...and if I'm not mistaken the question was directed to somebody else or is that to hard for you to comprehend...

And neither Cana nor PSG consulted you on this move, yet you drone on and on about it...

...anyways your general football knowledge doesn't even compare to mine...

Okay, guy. You have no idea how much ignorance you're demonstrating right now, nor to whom you're posting. Not everybody who posts on BS.com is a fan, my hebetudinous compatriot; some of us have worked IN world football, at the highest levels, for years. I'm one of the latter. So move on while you're ahead, genius.

Did you read Ljubo's comments?

Ljubo didn't go to Marseille. He could have, there was speculation to the point of actually sealing the deal. It would have been a comfortbale move for him (language, lifestyle, culutre etc). But no. He respected the PSG fans and understood what it would mean for them to see him in the colours of Marseille.

Cana has no loyalities whatsoever and trying to say there aren't any in the game of football anymore, when you see what Ljubo has done is totally inaccurate.

I think you've satiated yourself. Go ******** up some other board.

....like I said the only reason I'm here is Cana, and as long as he keeps being mentioned I will be here.....

And neither Cana nor PSG consulted you on this move, yet you drone on and on about it...

....actually I'm not concerned abou it at all, I'm glad he moved to OM....

....you have worked IN world football.... I don't know and I don't deny it....yet you are stuck posting on internet boards, trying to parade how good your dictionary memorization skills are.....and to whom....people that to mostly, english is their second langauge.....talk about being ignorant......

Head of Special Projects, CONCACAF; FIFA/AT Kearney, as the North American liaison, e-FIFA project; one of five North American delegates, 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan.

...you have worked IN world football...

No doubt.

I don't know and I don't deny it.

Good; one step toward making yourself look less foolish.

yet you are stuck posting on internet boards

Well...no. I'm actually checking in on the major football board in America in areas about which I have substantive knowledge...lots of folks in football, certainly in areas around the world that speak English, check in on BigSoccer...I spent time with Jesse at the Fox Sports World (now FSC) MLS announcement re: MLS broadcasts talking about ways to get BS.com and CONCACAF together, so don't belittle or marginalise BS.com just b/c you lack the requisite awareness to go beyond thinking of it as just an 'internet board.' I'm not 'stuck" anywhere....maybe you are though, and that's where all the initial hostility about PSG, Ligue 1, football knowledge and other opinions came from...

trying to parade how good your dictionary memorization skills are

I speak this way all the time. I'm not self-conscious about it; if you're bothered by the fact that words you thought were synomyms I actually employ in their precise meanings, that's between you, and your education system. Don't try to take out your insecurity with the language or its usage out on me or anyone else.

.....and to whom....people that to mostly, english is their second langauge.....talk about being ignorant......

Actually, there are all kinds of people on this board with whom I've spoken, online and in person, who spring from a multiplicity of backgrounds...only yourself, along with a few rabid right-wingers trying to stab the messenger in the Politics forum, have ever commented on my use of language. I wonder WHY, in fact, that is?

My posts to you called you to task for WHAT YOU POSTED. Not prepared to back up posts IN A FORUM to those IN THE FORUM? Then PM. Clear. Simple.

.

....I don't know your nationality but I'm assuming you're american since the places you mentioned you worked and was associated with are all in North America, or if you aren't you live there.....but you're talking about a market where football is still the least popular sport in the area making way for other american sports and majority of the population did not even know the rules or anything about it till the World Cup of '94....it has become a little bit more popular over the years but I don't see it ever becoming a major sports....but to make my point....you've worked as a North American liaison for FIFA or CONCACAF or whatever wich proves nothing to me...there are hundreds of people that work for these footballing organization that have no relation whatsoever with the actual game itself...unless you're a former player,a coach, an expert of some kind of football, a sports journalist with football as a main field then come and talk to me about football....and even then an average supporter coming from any other part of the world would know more football than a "Soccer" official from North America......

....actually I'm not insecure about the language at all....for someone that has only spoke the language as an everyday part of life for only 6 years,I think I speak it pretty good and my education system was totally in a different language.....and you are totally self-concious about the words you use because for some reason it makes you feel superior to people like me who don't happen to use words like "hebetudinous", and "prokaryotic" in everyday life and I doubt that any average football fan does....

...to make my point....you've worked as a North American liaison for FIFA or CONCACAF or whatever wich proves nothing to me...there are hundreds of people that work for these footballing organization that have no relation whatsoever with the actual game itself...unless you're a former player,a coach, an expert of some kind of football, a sports journalist with football as a main field...

  Dude, I stopped right here; clearly you have very little personal experience dealing with any of these occupations; while of course there are lots of players, coaches, and journalists who know a bit about the game, there are LOTS more who don't. Having worked in the game, I can tell you that Glanville, Radnedge and others know a bit, but for each Rick Lawes or Andrew Jennings in this world (I'm working with both on various projects RIGHT NOW), there are one hundred so-called experts/journalists who show up in the media area who know ********-all about football.

IOW, the very FACT that you cede "knowledge" over to these professions, withoutany delineation between those who actually know, and most who don't, means, in fact, that you have very little idea what you are talking about.

All of which has nothing to do with you coming into a forum beloved by me, re: a team beloved by me, a forum I've watched grow in terms of interest and variety, to talk ******** about a situation about which you know as much as you know about the world footbal scene as demonstrated by your above post. My direct report, the guy who trained me with regard to what world football was/is about, worte for decades for the Express when it was a real paper and, oh by the way, signed Pele out of Brazil for Cosmos (Clive Toye, for those looking for a name). That's the kind of man who knows a bit about football, guy. But again, anybody who ACTUALY knew anything aboutworld football at all would KNOW that for every Toye, there's all KINDS of schmucks who don't know sh!t. So to dismiss out of hand ALL football administrators, and to claim that "journalists" bring more knowledge to the table is the HEIGHT of ignorance; IOW, what you've done, in this post, is freaking ENSURE that I can rest replete in the knowledge that you've got NO clue. NONE. At all. Shhhh.

Like I said like three posts ago, I know that your userame means that you probably want to have a go, but not here, and not with me; youre embarrasing yourself.

...."DUDE",the guy ,CANA that is, was born in the same city as me,is the same nationality as me,I've followed him since he moved to PSG,his dad was a footballer that played for my hometown city....so do not assume I do not know anything about the situation....and like I said as far as the world football scene, you still have to come up in the world....

You're right. guy; I hope one day to do, and know, what you've done and you know, and, most importantly, to share it with others the way you've shared it. You're a football role model. I wish I had the experiences in football you've obviously had.
