Anyone got a showdown in their season finale?

I do. My team (Green Mtn. Blizzard) is up by 2 points on the second place team (sputnik's) in V.208 who we're facing on the road this coming week. I beat him the last time out 1-0 on a negative unpredictable event by one of his IMs. This should be a good one; my squad is at full strength while he's down three starters -- 2 defenders and an IM (he trains PM so that's not a huge loss). He'll likely win possession, so I'm going to need to capitalize on all my chances and hope my D (which I train) can stop his attacks. It'll probably be a nail-biter right till the end.

I do,

Tied for first, second on GD going into the final game at home against the number 1 team. I should have the midfield, but he'll have the better attack. I beat him opening day 3-1 at his place, I'm hoping to get the win and take the series, I'm hoping to win and then somehow win my qualifier and get out of my series that I've been in since season 19. This is the closest I've been to this point and I am hoping to take advantage of it, it should be a good game, one to watch.

No showdown here, granted I'm going up against #2 away, I've beat him the our past 2 matches and thanks to my new midfielders possession will be a landslide. Look for FDB to finish up their VI.82 run at 14-0-0.

It's barely Thursday evening and you are already talking about Sundays matches? Someone needs to get out more. :p

Solid PIC for me to get ready for my relegation quali. I can't seem to get my TS to satisfied, even after 3 straight PICs... I might have to beef up my squad for my quali match.

No, some people are just excited about promoting to IV, you just wouldn't understand :p

Win and maintain my current half-goal edge in differential (so termed because I'm well behind on goals scored), and I hold onto second place. The good news is, my opponent blew out his TS last week getting a crucial win to lock up 4th place for both of us, and he also suffered a couple of injuries.

This probably deserves another thread, but my record this season is a great example of how defense (in my case, defense ratings, my keeper carries me) can be underrated. I have the second fewest goals against, and the third fewest goals scored.

Superfluous MOTS (would win anyway I guess) just to get supporter mood as high as possible for the next 3 weeks. I have #1 already locked up, and am only waiting to see in which series I'll end up next season.

I locked up 1st place last week, even if I lose this week and tie on points I have a 30+ GD that'll take care of it.

But I don't intend to lose.

Last game of the season, so I will MOTS it. Supporters and Sponsors are already at High on Life.

Going to MOTS and blow this team outta the water he's usually around 145 in HS and I'm capable of pulling that w/ PIC so the mots should kill him... that and my brilliant-outstanding-formidable midfield BWAHAHAHAHA! I'm thinking I will set a new HS high for my team and the win will make 3rd place mine and hopefully sound a warning that I'll be challenging for the title next season (1st and 2nd are 10, 9 pts clear).

I play Lusitania at my place, winner avoids qualifier. We tied 1-1 at the beginning of the season at his place.

1. Foxbears 13 58 - 13 35
2. Bangalore Athletic 13 39 - 19 26
3. Titan FC 13 29 - 15 24
4. Lusitania F.C. 13 43 - 36 19
5. Norge Vikings 13 21 - 21 18
6. LiverPiscina FC 13 21 - 39 13
7. Greeley Soro 13 20 - 38 13
8. Alchies 13 10 - 60 1

We both joined V.233 at the same time and since these have been our scores:
Lusitania F.C. 0 - 4 Norge Vikings
Norge Vikings 2 - 4 Lusitania F.C.
Norge Vikings 3 - 0 Lusitania F.C.
Lusitania F.C. 1 - 0 Norge Vikings
Lusitania F.C. 1 - 1 Norge Vikings

I am still debating a MOTS or PIC. If I MOTS and don't win, I'll be totally screwed over for my qualifier. However, as long as I win, it's fine... Normal is not an option because if I don't MOTS I would need to get my TS up (I MOTSed 2 weeks ago to beat Titan FC 1-0, and am still recovering).

I have an easy game, but what happens in two other games will determine if I finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. I'm in 3rd now, and that's where I'll likely stay.

hey, Zeek... try to see what he's been doing of late in terms of MOTS/PIC by looking at HS... if u think his TS might be low or average then you could probably win on Normal... that's a hard choice to make... but Normal might be the way to go... don't hurt yourself and if u get lucky u win, if you don't u still have ok ts for the qualy which might not matter since u might get a pushover.

I'm just going to normal my match so my TS stays up for my offseason friendlies.

Here are his hatstats (and mine to compare) for the last 4 weeks:

Def - Mid - Off = Total

Week 13:
Lusitania F.C. - 39 - 45 - 65 = 149 (Home, 3-5-2)
Norge Vikings - 79 - 18 - 38 = 135 (PICed, Away, 4-3-3)

Week 12:
Lusitania F.C. - 40 - 42 - 65 = 147 (Away, 3-5-2)
Norge Vikings - 69 - 39 - 42 = 150 (MOTS, Home, 3-4-3 [finished 3-3-3])

Week 11:
Lusitania F.C. - 41 - 42 - 63 = 146 (Home, 3-5-2)
Norge Vikings - 74 - 39 - 44 = 157 (Normal, Home, 3-4-3)

Week 10:
Lusitania F.C. - 37 - 33 - 62 = 132 (Away, 3-5-2)
Norge Vikings - 72 - 30 - 41 = 143 (Normal, Away, 3-4-3)

In my MOTS I had my outstanding midfielder sent off in the first half, so that may be why I got the same midfield as I did the week before.

I'm against the number 3 team fighting for the number 2 spot. I don't have a shot at the series unless the number 1 team loses to the erratic defensive specialist at home, which isn't entirely unreasonable but I can't worry about that. If I lose on Sunday it won't matter even if the leader goes down.
