Okay we have some question to answer ...

1. Is everyone down with referring to this supporter section as Class Six? Should it be Class VI? It's mostly an informal name to just refer to our group of fans!

2. Do we want to be located on the East Side or West Side? Sounded like there is more support for the West Side.

3. Ticket level - here's where I have the most concern. Just looking at single game tickets: $25, 20, or 15. I don't want to price anybody out of the section - but then again I don't want to be stuck in the corner. My idea is either $20 or $15. Perhaps Class Six Season ticket holders can get a further discount??? I'm going to contact the team today.

4. Any other concerns?? Questions???

Class Six is cool. I don't think the distinction needs to be made unless there is a logo in the works. For a logo I'd like to see Class VI. Ok, so maybe I do like roman numerals better. Doesn't matter much.

2. Do we want to be located on the East Side or West Side? Sounded like there is more support for the West Side.
Personally I like the east side for some reason. I think I'm more used to it. Wherever we are I think we need the team to give us the same classification as 127. I feel like it should be GA inclusive of all comers. If they want to check for price category, that is fine. But I want to be able to sit wherever in the section and not be asked 5 minutes later if I have my ticket by some mom with kids. I also want to be able to bring friends and know we'll be able to sit together in the section.

3. Ticket level - here's where I have the most concern. Just looking at single game tickets: $25, 20, or 15. I think we've got to be $20 or less. However if we go $15 then there are more sections available to chose from and the Rapids may be more willing to give us GA status and not sell through ticketmaster, etc. I also worry my friends would not come to as many games if they have to pay $20. It looks like I'll be buying two season tickets next year...

I really think it'll be important to be recognized by the club and get designation as a supporters section. The rights of 127/128 supporters section should be confired on ours as well. IMO this is a deal killer (not killing my participation, but killing the idea behind it). If any family can go up and buy a seat in Class VI we have a lot of bs we don't want to deal with. I can recount my story from last year's DC United game when I was told many times that I ruined the game for a woman's daughter because I was standing & cheering in 127. Someone else at his first Rapids game call me an a$$hole many times as well before apologising at the end of the game.

For some reason I am a fan of the west side as well. My big hitch in the whole deal is that I like my front row tickets and I like knowing that no matter what time I get there, I can have my seats. So maybe a supporter's section just isn't for me. I really support this idea, especially if it distances itself (physically) from 127.

NO! we should be the Rapids Rabble-rouserz, or the Sitters, or the Class-less.
and for you that didn't get the new Windows patch, that was sarcasm.

I too like my seats, but I may be inclined to agree with section 103 - IF I can get the missus to agree. ( yeah, yeah they are in a mason jar on top of the fridge... )

Why do we need one whole section? Why not half a section to start, let people see what is going on below them, and if they complain there is a Raps person there to make them understand.
I do think that when there are supporters club meetings that get started with Illbeats, that we should be there and we should voice our opinions to the FO as well.
I have talked to MArcus about starting a supporters section that can uncompass all the groups, but I honestly do not think there is a way to get everyone in one section together. This just might be the best way to do it. Set up little-er sections of groups that hopefully can see that they are like one another and start to gravitate to one another to form the *dunn nunn nuuuuuuunnn* Super Suporters Groups.

On the other hand, I really love the idea that this would be a club for the club. A bunch o' people sitting watching the game arguing with each other and drinking (in moderation) and when the heat gets too high between any two of us - we band together like a pack to chew the he!! out of the ref.

BRILLIANT! :D

I am here to say that I will not be drinking in moderation every game. Some games I will drink too much. You all will have to deal with the consequences.

I enjoy the beer as well ;)

We wouldn't have the whole section ... I'd like to see us get like 6 -8 rows to cushion us from the people that will be upset with us for being boisterous.

For the sake of argument .. lets say 8 rows ... that would be rows 1-8. So GSchroder - you can get your front row seats still!!!

yeah, yeah they are in a mason jar on top of the fridge... Thanks for that - I needed a good laugh (and to know I'm not alone :))

Okay my view.

I choose the east side because I like it low and center and I was afraid those damn roof thingy's over the benches would get in the way. I'm fine somewhere in the first 8 rows and would be okay with sections 103, 107, 121 or 125. Of course I'd prefer y'all (ode to Willie) join me in 122.

Actually, I'd like to address this .... I just realized what you were saying gschroeder ...

If a season ticket holder has seats in our section ...those would be their seats. People in our section wouldn't be Dill holes like you get now with the person making their annual Rapids game ... but this is a section for dedicated fans to sit together.

It's only partially General Admission in that if a seat is not occupied - sure join us.

Does this make sense?

Discounted season tickets. Ability to bring in some flags on poles or banners. Special jerseys that say CLASS VI with purchase in this section. Some kind of special something something.

I'm impressed you got their attention so quickly. I'm interested to hear what they have to say.

Extended advertising for our section and for it to be known that this area may be pg-13 but not totally family (un)friendly.

I agree with the somethin'-sumthin'.

The guarantee that they will not sell this section to any joe shmo that logs on or calls for tickets.

Beer vendors to start with out section then move to others. :D
Keys to the company bathroom. :D
Free beer coupons. :D

No cheerleaders in front of our section - keep them in front of 127.

Try to get an idea of who the sales rep is going to be for this. I wanna keep my rep, so I wanna know who she should talk to.

An honest response to if this will be feasible in the new stadium.

On a side note we should try to organize a tail gate party for us that are interested for one of the later season games. This might help to get to know each other and get friends on the fence there to see if they like the crowd.

*edit*
Oh yeah! That this will be a different kinda crowd then what is normally in sec 127. I'm not trying t make enemies, but they will be the roudier, younger croud. That may help peak their interest.
And let them know that this is a group of mainly sesaon ticket holders that are trying to get this together. That may grant you some insta-credibility.

Well just got back from chatting ...

What i was told was (though the person who I really need to speak with wasn't there):

1. The Rapids are very enthused by this
2. They will look into some kind of ticket incentive to get people to the section (though I still need to talk with the person who can actually commit to this)
3. They would promote this group.
4. They would look into a seating protection from the Group Sale Mom/family.
5. They perfer us on the the East side - so we'd be on TV. That doesn't mean we have to sit on the East side though.

They also would like us to have a formal list of group members. This is to track the membership as well as know who is qualified as a member for whatever incentives they offer us.

So ... please ask questions of me ....

And also, please, if you're AT ALL INTERESTED in this seating area ... PLEASE email me at bodmer99@aol.com ...
and if you know of people interested ... have them email me. If they cannot email me ... then YOU email me on their behalf - ask people in your section that you know this weekend! ... this commits you/them to NOTHING.

But the more of us there are ... the more influence we'll have. If you'd like, include your phone number ... and please include how many people would be in your group (like Askum - it would be he and his lady) and if you're a season ticket holder already or not. If you are a season ticket holder ... what section you sit in now.

PLEASE, if you're at all interested - respond.

Good work GoRapids.

As I recall the Rapids wanted one contact so I'll ask this through you.

I'm not a season ticket holder. Will the Rapids do a flex pass deal for the section? I'm essentially a group of one. I bring people to the games, but part of the attraction of a supporters group is that on the nights that I can't drag someone along I'd be able to show up and sit among a friendly group of fans**. So can they (do they) do a season voucher program - 16 vouchers? You have all home games, but can use passes to bring people to some, or use them to show up on your own. Under my current soccer watching circumstances one season ticket isn't enough, and two season tickets are two many. al I've heard that they're ready flexible about exchanges, but I invision working this to a point that requires a lot of flexibility.

**The idea of just showing up alone and sitting with a good group isn't unattractive. I'm tired of worrying about whether the people I bring are enjoying themselves, and my wife, God bless her, ain't really a sports fan.

If I'm understanding what you're saying ...

The Rapids DO have a flexi ticket plan. You can get a full season ... or a half season ... or 1 full - 1 half (that's what I do - we can't make EVERY game in a year - and if we miss just two matches that's 4 tickets that go to waste. That way if we use them all up - we just purchase more at the end of the season at the ticket window).

Basically, if you get a half season ticket ... you get 8 (?) tickets to select games and can exchange them ... so you COULD bring 8 people to 1 game - or 4 people to 2 games - or just you to the 8 selected games.

Now, in regards to this section, what we are in discussions (and I was told there should be no reason against this - though the person I spoke to was in tickets sales and not operations) is that if someone has a ticket of equal or greater value than the section we settle on, they would be able to come into Class Six and sit in one of the unoccupied seats with us.

Did this all make sense?

I am in a similar boat so I want to make sure the season tickets continue to have the flexibility they currently have. Additionally I want the flexibility to get a ticket in this section the day of a game when I decide last minute to bring some friends.

Someone make some signs/bedsheets/banners to hang on the walls! This is the best way to draw attention to the section.
