Alreet lads, me and a mate will be coming down to yours early for a pissup when Man City come up to yours. Usually we've gone into Newcastle for a drink but we fancy a pub with atmosphere, wheres the best place to head to?
Cheers.

ummmmm, away fan friendly......
Avoid the Bigg Market or the Haymarket.
Other than that you should be okay, try the Quayside depending on what time and day the game is.....
I am sure there is an away fans guide to the premiership on-line which lists friendly places actually......google it.
If you find somehwere listed let me know and I will tell you what it's like.
Believe me I will know ;)

Try the Strawberry which is just outside the ground. Don't take the píss and you should be ok.
The Hotspur, which is opposite the Haymarket Bus Station near Marks and Spencers is also quite away fan friendly.
The Gate, a big glass building near the Co-Op has a couple of alright bars.
The Black Bull is a possible, i've not been in for years so i don't know.
There is a bar/pub on Barrack Road, near to the Mini/BMW garage, its sort of family oriented but on match days its full of fans.
If you like your drinking with a touch of violence get the 62 or 63 bus from Eldon Square and get off on Shields Road.
