Davies, and in terms of perfomance hes played better even though hes not at his best, hes a good team player and always chases the ball, although has been a bit below par compared to last season hes still not as bad as you guys make him out to be. An if your only watching Bolton for Jared dont bother its a team game and more than one player goes into winning a game, show a little more faith in bolton and dont expect such quick results. Plus please note that for the last couple of seasons weve been a top ten team and are progressively improving, we may be a lesser known team in debt but less of the not knowing how to play stuff when it comes down to it weve graffted our league position more than most teams out there.

Mosca mode,

I agree!!

It's not about messing around with a team. It's about letting a quality player who left his own country/club/fans show what he is capable of doing. Borgetti is not a teeneger that has all the time in the world.
It's not like Allardyce would have to sit a world-class players worth shitloads of money like henry, Ronaldo, gerrard, crespo for Borgetti.

No, it's about Borgetti not being adapted to the English game, it's about Borgetti playing in Mexico all his life, then moving to a foreign country where football is a much quicker game.

I understand the fact that some people don't think it would be a good idea to do something different (but not much) with the team right now since they have been very lucky at this early stages of the season. But it just shows the lack of confidence in the players and in themselves because if they don't take advantage of this lucky streak they will end up having a mediocre season as usual.

Lucky streak? Another mediocre season? You really don't know anything. Finishing 8th and 6th in the Premiership is not bad going for a side who has been in the Prem in their (now) 5th season after being in debt and Division 1 for three seasons. Must be a really big lucky streak.

I just hate seeing the waste of talent that he has as the world cup aproaches. Benches are not usually the best places for improvement u know.

We already know about your feelings about this, no need to keep dragging it up. I agree the bench is not the best place improvement, but the RESERVES is. It will improve his ability in England and i guarantee you he will play in the first team by March 2006.

Hope everything works out for him. I'd even rather see him play in a 2nd division team in China and get actual play time, than see him warming up benches for some british asses.

Knowing Bolton it probably isn't for british asses.

And yet another sleepless night to catch bolton on tv and not seeing borgetti play. Maybe that bulldog-faced coach wants borgetti to score telepathically. This is ********ing frustrating. I should've gone to bed instead.

One more thing...Am I the only in here who thinks bolton plays a horrible defensive game? I mean since the day I heard bolton existed, i watched some of their games and I was amazed by the incompetence of their defence. I don't see other teams doing the silly defensive mistakes bolton makes. Watching bolton honestly reminds of my soccer playing years in elementary school when we would play against ridicioulsy stupid teams that everybody would always beat like 10-0 just because of their stupid defense.

I dont think borgetti would have made the difference this game. I think bolton got one of thier players sent off.

Fuk man, I watch the game waiting for Borgetti to play, but nothing. Hopefully in the winter player sales, he looks for another team.

That's why they've only lost 3 so far... I suggest you watch the next match with your eyes open.

How many matches do you watch? Anyway, their defence won't be the best because the back lines all ********ed up.

Did I use the word "history"?
Well, no I did not. I am just talking about their games this season. Let's be honest they have been lucky in a few games, like when they were given a penalty kick and speed scored that one at the very end of the game. Did they deserve to win?....no! the other team played a little better but fortunately for bolton they won that one.
Just because they have lost "only" 3 games doesn't make their defense strong. And just so you know I watch the games with my eyes wwwwide open.
I know about soccer. I've been playing it for 2 decades now, so don't try to teach me anything.

I agree with you about that match Speed scored a last minute penalty, but we completely out played Everton in the second match of the season, but they scored and won the match, so what goes around comes around.

Why would the ref have seen sense and sent Essien off for his horrific tackle on TBH because of Borgetti's presence on the pitch?

Would he have seamlessly been able to switch to left back when Gardner was sent of?

Would he have been able to stop Chelsea moving up two gears simply by being on the pitch?

The answer to all these questions is no and therefore you look stupid.

Your not thinking logically here having Borgetti on the field would have turn our squad into a fully international squad with over 300 million pounds worth of talent. Despite the fact that our club could be bought for that amount. Liverpool might have been beaten 4-1 and chelsea may be fired up at being accused of playing boaring football, but Borgetti would change all that.
Bolton where playing some damn fine football an have been the only team to challage and scare chelsea enough to change tactics and formation to a 3-4-3. Essien should have been sent off and gardners desision has harsh let alone the fact that the ref didnt do anything about chelsea players surrounding him and insisting he should be sent off. So unless Borgetti is actually a lucky charm or a lepricorn i dont think he could have helped with the defence to stop three world class international strikers.
I was supprised however that speed was taken off for nakata and that he didnt opt to keep em both on (did speed pick up a knock or tire through lack of match practice?)

i havent really payed attention to borgetti this year but from what i see in this board is alot of frustration from the fans about borgettis lack of minutes.
lighten up, the european season is 40-50 games long, bolton has only played 10 games. first of all borgetti joined the team a month late, second of all his role is in the second team, the only reason borgetti was signed by bolton was because they finished 6th in the epl last year and qualified for the uefa cup. for teams that play in their domestic league and a european competition, you have to have enough depth to balance out both competitions. borgettis role for now is to play the european matches while the players that have been at bolton longer are the ones that play in the epl. once the domestic calendar and the european calendar begin to mix more in the middle of the season, borgetti will begin to see many more minutes. if bolton had finished in 7th last year instead of 6th, borgetti would still be playing for pachuca, but since bolton needed an extra striker to help balance the domestic and european calendar, borgetti was bought by bolton. once they play in the uefa cup more often, borgetti will get more minutes in both competitions
him not playing now is not such a bad thing, he is 32 years old and if he were to play 40-50 matches in europe, he would be burned out for the world cup
