Is there any forum (website, etc.) where WC2006 ticketholders can exchange tickets with one another in order to attend a more-preferred match? I have tickets to the Munich match on June 21 and would like to find someone with tickets to the Munich match on June 14 and make a trade.

Is this possible? Anyone on this site interested?

Thanks!
- Mike

This is an interesting topic!

The ticket sales agency being used by FIFA to handle all ticket sales is a company called CTS Eventim AG, based in Bremen, Germany.

Some time ago, e-bay proposed to FIFA that they should work together to establish a 'legitimate' trading platform for unwanted World Cup tickets. FIFA told e-bay to get stuffed.

Earlier this year, CTS Eventim AG, FIFA's official ticketing partner, also suggested to the game's governing body that they should provide an official online trading platform, in this case setting a ceiling for any mark-up on face value, e.g. 10 or 15% (to be seen as a 'handling fee'). Guess what FIFA said? Get stuffed!

It is clear that FIFA has no interest in providing a way for anybody who ends up with tickets that they don't want or cannot use to sell these on. They would rather see empty seats in the stadiums than bother with trying to re-allocate such tickets to real fans (they've got the money, so why bother helping the fans!). Imagine you buy a TST-7 for a side that is knocked out at the group stage. Why should you be denied the opportunity to sell this on to fans of the teams at the later games, rather than having to attend games that are of no interest to you ... or worse still to leave your seat empty at such games!?

I wrote to CTS Eventim about this earlier this year, and they said in reply:

"The idea of a ticket exchange is an interesting matter that FIFA has so far rejected. FIFA could undoubtedly answer your question, and we would therefore ask you to contact FIFA direct."

If you think that FIFA should have a re-think and permit a 'controlled' ticket exchange, you heard the man!

I'm hoping to be doing some ticket-swapping nearer the time too. Is it allowed on this forum....or forbidden...?

Any moderators about who can help me here? I didn't spot anything about it in the faq, unless it would count as an advertisement. Equally, I've seen nothing of the sort going on which makes me assume it's no-go.

Cheers.
