Anyone have any plans for the upcoming holiday weekend? My mom is coming in town, so not too much for me. She does leave Sunday though, so I may have to live it up that night and enjoy an extra day off on Monday.

Sounds cool!! Most of the Aggie home games this season are early and I am booked up most every weekend until after Thanksgiving. :( Hopefully I can sneak a game in somewhere. There is nothing like being in Kyle Field during the Aggie War Hymn!

You are right Yoss-we have had some turmoil ( to say the least ) in the off season so it will be important for DJ as well as the defense to play well........however Josh will be going to his 4th game and he is excited too!

The reason that I chose Cotswold was because we could ride bikes on little day trips from there-it is not etched in stone where we are going but I know that since I am forcing Sean to attend footie matches on our anniversary trip that I need to do something fun for him too! He is a mountain bike guy-the kind that takes 2 week trips to Moab, Costa Rica, etc.
If you have better ideas of where to go-please let me know! :)
I wish i knew more about the U.K. so i could help you out. I was in the Cotswolds as a kid, and to be honest all i remember was quaint little thatched roof villages with bumper to bumper traffic the whole way though. It probably won't be as bad in the fall, and there are some good day trips to take from there. I might have found them boring because i was young.
Last time i was over in the UK, I drove with my cousin through all of Wales, from Cardiff to Hollyhead. There was some stunningly beautiful country out there. Particularly the Brecon Beacons, a group of mountains about an hour north of Cardiff. I know alot of people go there to hike, but maybe they bike there too? The town of Brecon is really a lovely little town, its like something from a movie. We also drove through Snowdonia and Anglesea in the North of Wales, which were some really beautiful remote regions, i don't know if thats what your looking for but i was really impressed. That drive was the highlight of my trip, really, besides Arsenal's 2-1 win over Chelsea at Highbury. :D

Wales is gorgeous.

I've driven through it twice. First time with stops at Tintern Abbey (one of the coolest things I've seen) and Chepstow Castle. The second time was a stop at Caerneforn (sp?) Castle in the north near Holyhead.

It really is gorgeous countryside, dotted with quaint little towns. I'd recommend that anyone go there to visit. But please don't ask me to spell anything there. ;)

My buddy and I went to a barbecue cookoff in Kansas City last year and just ate a ton. After we got back, I went down to work out and my sweat smelled of hickory. Worse, I went to pee after, and that smelled even more like hickory!
