I wouldn't take my word for it either, but if I had a ticket with my name and SSN# on it, I would probably take my SS card with me to the games and not worry about it. I would be totally shocked if they are going to check the numbers on 70,000 tickets before a game. Even random checks will be difficult to carry out and if you can prove you are you then....

This sounds very reasonable to me (the option of carrying your SS card along with your passport), but I am not Fifa or the DFB. I think I read that 10% of all ticket holders will be ID'd at stadia, but I don't know where I read that or how accurate that can be.

I have yet to obtain a passport, but I was wondering if including your SSN as listed somewhere in the passport, but not necessarily the passport#, is that an option when applying for a passport, and would Fifa accept this?

I'm sure I can work this out with them via mail, and if they require a 10 EUR fee to make corrections, I can live with that. I mean I'm paying 25 EUR to have them ship the tickets.

In this case, please write a brief letter to the FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center (FWCTC), re: 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, 60583 Frankfurt am Main. Please enclose a photocopy of your valid ID card or passport. A fee of €10 applies to cover costs of the change and repeat verification.

I used the MA licence numbers....I think this will be OK.....I've already given them $1200....It would really suck if they tossed us for not having the right number on the ticket :eek:

I don't even have a passport yet! But I think I'll do it anyway.....It's the "repeat verification" that I don't like...don't fix it if it ain't broken kinda thing!!!! :D

I saw the e-mail from the Yanks in Germany list this morning around 8 am PDT, immediately went to the Fifa website, and got a TST-3 for the U.S. I initially tried for the TST-4 in the lottery, but when I was looking for tix this morning that level was sold out at the time, and I would've already been pushing my vacation time to see the round of 16 games, so I went for the shorter TST-3 rather than a longer TST-5, etc. I'm stunned and thrilled, as I thought it was more lotteries in my future, with an uncertain outcome.

It helped that I was already registered at the Fifa World Cup site from initially applying so all my passport info etc. was already filled out, and all I had to do was put in my Mastercard info.

They're dribbling out very, very gradually. The process is touch-and-go and very frustrating. Took me a couple of hours to get mine, so keep trying.

I've seen all red a couple of hours ago but now it's back to yellow.
