Next step.... airline ticket and rail passes.

The Magpie

The airline tickets are pretty straightforward.....but how do the rail passes work??? I think we'll need a whole seperate thread to figure out the rail pass deals!

If anyone knows how the rail passes will work...cost, where to buy, usage limits etc....please pass it along!

Thx

Yeah, I just got in again by going Back from the error page and entering the security word again.

I have 2 tickets, but I could use one more. I think my friend will have to take care of it on her own. I don't want to invalidate my first order trying to get an extra ticket.

Good luck to everyone! Thanks to all who found this info and posted! Much appreciated.

Thank God for BS, too!

Just FYI, but for those who've already received confirmation of ticket orders: if you have to change your passport number, you have to make the change in writing via snail mail to the FIFA World Cup Ticketing Center (FWCTC), sending them a photocopy of your passport and the correct number. There's a fee of 10 Euros to do this, and I've put in a request to check and see how they prefer payment.

What if you just change from SS # to passport? Is there a charge for that? I had to use my wifes SS since the passport is at home.

I gave them my SSN# (since my passport is on my dresser and I am at work.) so if I decide to change to the passport #, I have to do it in writing and pay a $10 fee????

Crap. I just realized I am one of those people, since my passport expires in May. I didn't even think about this. Thanks for the info.

It seems that way. But it's 10 EUR, which currently is at $12.25, but may be different when you go to process your change.

I wouldn't take my word for it either, but if I had a ticket with my name and SSN# on it, I would probably take my SS card with me to the games and not worry about it. I would be totally shocked if they are going to check the numbers on 70,000 tickets before a game. Even random checks will be difficult to carry out and if you can prove you are you then....

I believe the change costs 10 Euros, no matter the reason.

Well.. I had my Passport # but not my dads. I just inserted a number in its place and now I am sending Fifa letter with my dad's correct passport #.

Also, I typed my dad's first name incorrectly. I am just trying to correct that with the letter as well. Is that a problem? I don't think my order will be rejected.

See here:

I'm going to be staying in a small town about 2 hours to the East of Frankfurt with approx. 30 other U.S. supporters, with a small Die Bahn station in-town that features regular rail service (hourly) to a station 1/2 hour away that serves as a regional hub, with direct access from there to a number of host cities.

I believe that is something you can correct on-line via the Customer Self Service section.

I was able to correct my own information, but not my dad's info (who is my guest)
