ever since rafa benitez came to liverpool as manager he has been doing nothing but bringing spaniards tot he team. he brought 7 spaniards to the team and is destroying the old team. the pre-rafa team did better in the premiership finishing around 2nd and 3rd. he sold owen adn basically destroyed liverpools attack. real madrid doesnt even need him and now he is 5th on the bench. they did win the cl with rafa on the team and that is a good thing he did. if he never brought luis garcia to the club then they might have have not advanced to the final. i think he was the only good signing rafa made for liverppo. jose reina was pointless. for his debut in liverpool he kept a clean sheet for around 400 seconds. they should of kept dudek. dudek is a good goalee that is left behind on the bench in liverpool to much. liverpool definately would not of won the cl without him on the bench.

They'd also wouldn't have won today, considering he's injured.

Ehhhhh.........what debut were you looking at then? At Anfield, i.e. his debut in Liverpool, Liverpool beat TNS 3-0. That means TNS, the other side, the side NOT Liverpool scored 0, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NIENTE, NUL goals. For Reina's second home game, the NOT Liverpool side were called Sunderland and the score there was 1-0, with the second different NOT Liverpool side scoring, emmmm.......*shuffles to look through old newspapers*.....Oh yeah, here it is!...... 0, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NIENTE, NUL goals. And then there was today, but that's moot as Reina didn't play today.

So, to recap, Reina has played 2 games for Liverpool at home and given up 0, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NIENTE, NUL goals.

Now I suppose the possibilty exists that you have a problem with the time space continuum, in which case maybe 0=1 and 180 minutes plus injury time=400 seconds, but don't worry Einstein had the same problems and he got a Nobel prize. Keep trying.

Well,em.........i think he was talking about the wrexham game!anyways,i also do think he has braught to many spanish players, but as long as we keep on winning i dont mind.I would ,on the other hand, like to have in our squad more national players. And i dont think garcia was our hero last term.Gerrard was the main reason why we won the C.L last season.

Wrexham game was NOT in Liverpool as he said. Reina's 1st game in Liverpool was TNS.

who cares how many goals he gave up at home. the important fact is that he made his debut in liverpool vs wrexham and let in a goal after seven minutes.

Mine is half full:

Ever since Rafa Benitez came to Liverpool as manager he has been doing everything he can to improve the team. He brought in Alonso, Garcia, Morientes, along with a host of other talented and promising players to help bolster the squad. In the days of Gerard Houllier the team had some success, but the board and most fans agreed it was time to take the club in a new direction in order to mount a serious challenge for the really big football prizes. Despite Owen leaving for Real Madrid (I'm not even going there - just read the history), and LFC being dismissed as complete outsiders to win the tournament, Rafa's new signings and tactical genius were ratified with a fifth Europen Cup for the club - Yeeeaaaaaaaahooooo!!!!! (excuse me.) The final in Istanbul was a night that the entire club and fans will cherish for the rest of their lives, and heralded a new chapter in Liverpool Footbal Club's history. Liverpool's goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek (currently injured) had a particularly good game, but Rafa knew that in order to build on the success of the team, he needed to bring in new talent in the form of Jose Reina etc, etc... (to be continued)

Just my take on things....

Hey wait a minute. Are you trolling?

tactical genius? if Kewell doesnt get hurt and Benitez doesn't HAVE TO make a line-up change in the CL Final, Liverpool might have lost.

Benitez had a plan when he came to liverpool he signed brilliant players who got injured (which in beniez' position was unavoiable) he did all he could do and that was Bringing LVP's fifth trophy.

What about his tactics against Olympiacos, or Juve, or Chelsea...

ya those tactics were really great- put 10 men on defense and leave baros up front by himself so he can attack once every 15 min

'If', 'might'.... it's speculation and it's irrelevant. We made it to the final, and WON. I happen to believe that it was due in no small part to Rafa's tactical decisions. Not just in Istanbul, but leading up to that night. With all due respect, why are you nit-picking?

Yes indeed.

Rafa could have done this, should have done that, this player is crap, he's no good, etc... It's not very constructive is it? We've played TWO matches in the Prem this season on the back of a European Cup win, and people are already claiming Benitez is not only doing it all wrong, but that he did it all wrong last season too.

Get behind your team and your manager you whinging bastids!
