Well we will know who we'll be facing on thursday but I wanted to post this early to see who you guys want to face.

To me I really want to face either Man Utd or Chelsea.

Facing english clubs is always fun :D

I want Chelsea in the group stages or Barcelona....tough yes...but if we want to be taken serious we must beat teams like that.

Plus, theres that revenge aspect also hehe ;)

Bayern Munchen
Chelsea FC
Udinese
Rapid Wien

That would be a nice group right there.

How is it that Chelski is not part of the top seeding after winning the League and going the the semi's last year. Is it because they are rather inexperienced in the CL over the last 5 years?

'Cause Inter have made the CL for three years in a row and have reached a semi and two quarters - plus their side is also very strong.

I understand, but does anyone know the factors that go into the coef. rating. The system seems flawed. Porto and Inter over Chelsea? I don't think the coef. takes into account the current team, as explained as an answer for Inter. I am curious to know the reasoning behind the Euro ranking for the teams...i.e. how much is weighed on domestic performance v. CL and Uefa Cup results...

AFAIK this ranking is based on the european performance in the last 5 years. But I wonder why Porto is behind Arsenal, so it seems to be a combination of individual team performance in Europe and the leagues coefficients. But I'm pretty sure that it has nothing to do with the domestic performance.

There's only one team I would like to see in Bayern's group and that is Rapid Vienna. Bayern haven't played an Austrian team since 1986. I remember the great and dramatic games between Bayern and Austria Vienna in the 1985-86 season (4-2, 3-3). I was watching the Austrian league closely back in the 1980s, they had quite an arsenal of fine players back then, like Anton Panenka, Tibor Nyilasi, Hansi Müller, Hans Krankl, Herbert Prohaska, Walter Schachner, Mario Kempes, Oleg Blokhin...

ideal group for bayern

bayern
lyon (best french, avoid them in KO stage if possible)
sparta prague (decent team, but we whip them regularly, and could help us get top spot even with lyon in the group)
artmedia/thun (wtf are they?)

artmedia/thun (wtf are they?)I'd prefer we avoid Lyon alltogether (group and KO rounds); replace them with Panathinaikos. I agree with the other two choices.

Chance are we'll get Juventus, Schalke 04, and Werder Bremen, which means that Germany's UEFA coefficient will place us right near Lichtenstein.
