Well I plan on going to Germany in 2006 and was wondering what teams everyone will be supporting. Im a German fan but arent sure if I should root for the Americans or can I have it both ways. What about everyone who will you be supporting?

well i really want to go and it depends on how i do this year meaning if i pass all my classes since im only in 10th grade my parents will pay for me to go so im going to work my arse off and get there

Brazilian here with a lot of pride.. don't take me wrong though.. most of my comments i'm just playing around..i sincerely hope the US grows and the MLS prospers.. I would love to go the stadium every week and see great matches.. I've tried ended up abandoning it... and as for the world cup i believe in brazil above all, (how could i not) and then i think Argentina has a great chance, italy might do well, I'm hoping a team from Africa can get to the final rounds so next world cup will be even better (since it's in Africa).. and i guess Germany will probably hit the line also, playing home and all (though their team failed to impress me in the last games i've watched)...
And finally, yes i'd like the US to do well, perhaps only with good World Cup performances the feeling for patriotrism (that is so strong here) will spread to soccer...

brazilian fan eh? well at least you support a respectable team. Im a German supporter but arent totaly anti-brazil. more anti-argentina and anti-maradona.

Personally, I don't understand how you can ask "what team will you support?". Surely an affiliation to a team is something you are practically born with, or at the very least adopt in very early life and retain / endure for all your living days. As far as a national team is concerned, how can their be any question about following any team other than that of the country of your birth!???

Call me old fashioned, but I was born in England and there is only one country I'll be supporting in Germany next year!

Oh, and club side - my Dad took me to see Bristol City in 1968 and it is unthinkable that I would I ever support any otehr side - come thick or thin (and it's mostly been thin!!).

I am going with TST USA ticket, so i'll be rooting for my stars and stripes all the way. But being this the best 32 teams in the world, and if you get some great matchups going on, I will be watching all the games over there at a bar or something, and would say my fave teams in no particular order are

Brazil
Czech Republic
France
Argentina
England
Senegal (who think they could repeat a good performance like last few time?)

so as long as they arent playing the USA, but playing other teams, i'll be rooting for those above teams
