- Notes and Ramblings -

Moreno - MLS doody
Rimando - MLS doody
Esky - Still Foggy
Adu - Still with beef jerky knee

Knave will be along soon to add all the extra bits but I thought we should get this sucker going, seeing as it begins in just over 48 hours. THIS match is very important. Not only does it give us revenge from the 2-0 , and put us through to the next round, but it also could give us a big boost going into the next league match.

Agreed. Time to put the past behind us. Let's get a win here, rinse the taste from the last game out of the mouth, and start getting forward momentum into the league.

Time for the guys to cowboy up, get thier heads on straight and kick some butt.
Alot of variables in the lineup on this one, including Adu and Errrrrrrpen.
It's going to be damned interesting to see what Nowak pulls out of his hat for this one.

we should win this game given o'briens absence and dallas' poor form as of late.

ahh right, Namoff is out for the next league match not this one. Sooo...any lineup predictions? Adu? Is he planning on playing this week? i was under the impression he was still wobbly. We know Perkins will get a chance to shine, and God I hope he shines. Actually I hope he never sees the ball near his goal.

Well, we have all seen what optimism can get us.

So is this where Erpen makes his debut? I'll throw out a non-Erpen lineup and we can see where he fits:

Also I don't see where Namoff is suspended for this game. He is suspended for the NE game. We do have Olsen, Kukyndall, and Gros sitting on a yellow.

-----------------Perkins

----Namoff------Boswell------Prideaux

---------------Carroll

Kovalenko----Simms----------Gros

--------------Gomez

-----Quaranta------------Walker

-If Fred is ready to go then he starts but it doesn't sound like that's the case. I have no idea about Benny who would start for Simms if he's ready to go.

My questions:

- Any chance a jetlagged Moreno makes a late-game substitution?

- Will Adu be fit to play?

Despite the success of Quaranta/Walker as forwards against Chivas USA, I don't have much confidence in them against Dallas, to be honest. Particularly with the way Walker looked in Harrisburg and against LA, and the way Quaranta looked in Hartford and against LA. I hope like hell I am wrong.

Me too! But i know exactly where you are coming from. Them doing well against Chivas means nothing against any other team. I think this match will sit heavily on the shoulders of our midfiled and their ability to score. Again, I hope Mr. Baltimore proves me wrong.

Is Benny Olsen still not ready to go? Also, will we not see Erpen in the back? Honestly, I think of the entire backline Prideaux has played the worst. Wouldn't mind seeing him sit out a game or two. Also, I'm with everyone else who thinks this MLS select vs. Real Madrid crap is the worst idea possible. At least we now know where the priorities of the big whigs at MLS are.

Isn't Nameoff out of this one?

Agree on Walker, but I thought that Tino had a good game in hartford. An assist stolen from him. Against LA, I diddnt think he sucked more than anyone else on the team :x

No. Namoff is out of the next league match. This is not a league match.

Think we might see Erpen here in the 2nd half. I hope we win wednesday, but we've only beaten 2 MLS teams ever in USOC. Then again, the guys will still be smarting from Saturday so maybe they'll lay the smack down on pescadito Ruiz and his cronies.

He did have an assist stolen from him, no question. And he was definitely more active than Ralston had been. But right up until the assist, his passing was terrible -- no energy behind them whatsoever, resulting in turnover after turnover.

Heh, well, all you have to do is look at the grades thread after any game to see how different things can look. I thought he played much worse than Jaime, for instance. Jaime tried to make things happen; he mostly did not succeed, but he tried to make things happen. Tino seemed to disappear for large stretches of the match.

Might as well give Tino a chance Wednesday, not like we have anybody else who can play there.

I doubt Benny will be ready for this, he could be, but with those types of injuries you have to let them heal or you are likely to hurt it again and be out for that much longer.

Any word on Freddy? I doubt his fitness would let him go 90 minutes even if he is 100%, but I he could be a late sub if his knee has healed enough.

Nowak only used 2 subs against the Galaxy. So he'll be allowed to use 4 subs against Dallas.

Not really. But USOC games do allow 4 substitutions per team.

I make no predictions for this game based on Saturday's fine performance, and Nowak could throw out some crazy lineup. I'm prepared to see Dallas come at us full force despite the absense of one RO'B. See you all WEDNESDAY!
