I coach an O-30 women's team, most of my players started playing because their kids did, only a couple of them actually played in school/college.
Last night we had an interesting game of moms v daughters (and son). Not too serious, we didn't keep score but just had a good time. There was some decent football played by both sides and everyone enjoyed it.
This might be worth trying to give your players a break from the usual training sessions if you have any moms (or dads) who can get out and play a bit.

Alumni games for high school and middle school's have been some of my favorite motivating tools for kids. Parent/Kid games are always a hoot as well, seeing as most parents enjoy the chance to wallop their kids a pretty good one at least once in a game!
I actually had a parent ask me if they could join a warmup game of freeze tag after seeing the kids who were it getting to ping balls at the rest of the kids to tag them below the knee.... she said she had had about all she could take of her "little angel" for the week and wouldn't mind being "it" so she could nail him a few times!

When I use to coach U10 rec soccer, the last practice of the year was always a parent-kid game, it was a BLAST! Parents and kids both loved it!

It's fun to watch the light dawn on some of the more vociferous dads, too, when they realize it's not so doggone easy after all. We had one guy who was always fuming when kids missed shots or were slow to get them off do a whiff/splat in front of an open net. His kid ran over and gave him a hand up and he had the grace to laugh at himself, which was fun. Even better was the next season he was much more...measured with his sideline comments.
