Wha' happened?? - I did everything I could to ensure another DC United victory - I drank my coffee from my lucky BLACK United for DC cup in the morning - At the game I drank beer and ate peanuts - I tipped at the beer stand - All this usually works but not this time

Oh yeah - I was unable to do a recently added tail-gating ritual because I was doing some volunteer work before the game - At tailgating I light the grill and fire up some brats - And one brat always manages to fall into the ashes - Eating this one assures a victory (or against Chelsea and awesome game) - For the Chivas USA game I went even better - I ate the brat that rolled off the grill onto the ground - But didn't do any of this before the LA Gal game - Guess I'll have to resume this tailgating ritual even when I do volunteer stuff before games

Any other pre-game rituals by others that usually work but didn't this time?

{sigh} - Guess the Soccer Gods decided to take away a game from us we shoulda tied to make up for game we won in LA but shoulda tied

Stupid family commitments made it so I couldn't watch the first half, when that happens we lose.

But I did find a bunch of babes (my age too, which shows we are alright for future fan support) on myspace.com who are United fans. :D

EDIT: I'll have to hide them from Freddy. He's got the BMW and a few contracts while I've got nothing. :D

It's me. I take full responsibility for the loss. At most games I've gone to, it's a ritual to pay throught the nose and buy a foggy bottom in the stadium. Forget the fact that locals don't seem to like the brew, i'm from the sticks, and it's a DC/Baltimore thing, and it's sold at the stadium, and ever since i've been goin I ALWAYS do this. I have rarley made the 6 hour trip to watch a lose.

But this time, we HAD to tailgate, and everybody HAD to be all nice to us, and we drank this crap called...what was it? 2 x? or something, i've never heard of it, i think it's made by natty lite ;)

honestly, i realized on the train ride back to WV that a) we should've tied, and b) i didn't follow the usual pattern.

Between the brat, the coffee and the beer you HAD to have been the equivalent of a weapon of mass destruction. If you happened to release the agent orange near the DC United bench that could have been a good reason why the team looked so freaked out when facing Cobi Jones. :) :) :)

i usually spend a half hour b4 the game reading up on pregame match reports, etc, then i listen to some hard rock for about 5 minutes up until kickoff on the tube, but no, school started this week, and what did i have to do? work and miss the entire first half and 15 minutes of the second half, in fact i missed all the goals, as a matter of fact, every dc loss has occurred when i wasn't watching the majority of the game, or didn't get to watch it at all this season, i haven't seen a full dcu game where we lost

but college towns are nice

The Galaxy just got lucky, IMO. I just moved here and was at the game with a group from my school. They were worried there would be no scoring. When the Galaxy scored I promised them there would now be at least a total of two goals because it's against the law for the Galaxy to win outside of L.A. Despite the eventual win, I thought it would be a draw right to the final whistle. To further my intro, I am now a DC United fan except for Galaxy games. I remember that 96 final like yesterday. I can't wait for the Sudamericana game.

If I were you, I'd be prepared to duck.

Around here, either you're with us 100% or you're against us. No "except for Galaxy games".

I didn't wear my lucky boxers! :( Red and white plaid from GAP, we haven't lost a game since I have been wearing those. And yes, I do wash them between games.

Pick one, pal.

You're either in or you're out.

The Hatians voodoo priestes didn't have any chickens that day, she only had pigeons and had to kill more of them to get tot the chicken level. I told her it was about quality and not quantity, dumb voodoo priestes, now we gotta slaughter whole farms to reverse the curse...

I knew we were in trouble when my buddy locked his keys in his trunk before the game, thus safely locking away all of our tailgating beer until Sunday. It was the tragedy before the tragedy...

I'm sorry, it's painful, I don't want to talk about it.

From now on through the end of the season AND play-offs AND US Open Cup AND Copa Sudamericana games, you will be required to wear your shorts ON THE OUTSIDE of your pants thereby instilling fear in the opponents, interest in the female fans and envy in all male fans around you

Seriously guys, it was me. I am sorry. I wore my white jersey instead of my new black one because the black one smelt of elderberries. Never again. I will just stink like rotten fruit next time. Or I could do the laundry.

No, no, no. It was me.

Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.

The sweat was running into my eyes, and I was nearly blinded. I stumbled onto the field to take some pictures of warmups, and somehow found myself behind a collection of "players" wearing puke-yellow warmups.

After getting a few closeups, my camera body just quit working. The diagnostic code said "Bad subjects" I had to take pictures the rest of the night w/ three disposable cameras.

I promise to make it safely to the DCU end for warmups from now on.

I do have to say, one of the puke-yellow players was very pretty. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
